if you don't have this game you better get it!!! what time are you guys running the Ring in?? my best so far is 6:52 in my M3 GTR Race Car........
I think we should start a contest for Laguna Seca & Nurburgring times. Of course, we could do it in two different categories for each: 1) pick a car, bone stock, simulation tires (is that still an option? I haven't checked), 2) unlimited - pick any car, do whatever you want to it. Thoughts? The Fchat GT4 Challenge!
I love it! I'm still working on my iA license, and I haven't made any superfast cars, just the ones that will win me races in the beginners circuit. I started from scratch, no GT3 credits or licenses. What's the most agressive car in the arcade mode? The Lister Storm? Do they get unlocked as you play? I'd like to try to make some competetive times on the 'ring to post, but I'm not so far into the game that I've got race cars.
Good idea! Im only about halfway through my S license...I haven't been able to devote much time to the game, preparing for SATs and all...After this weekend it should all be good.
I think we should just do Laguna Seca or some other track that isnt as big as the Nurburgring , it would just make it alot easier. We could have 2 classes, stock, and modded.
'ring: 7'19" in the Lister Storm.... should have used off-road tires, I spent enough time in the grass.
Anyone want to pick a particular car of choice to make it that much more competitive? Or keep it to factory, non race cars with street tires of any compound?
^^^^Very true, that would make things a lot easier. Im in for the 'Ring idea...so far i think im at about 7:30:xxx in my M3, i kinda go about half way into the course then think of something else i want to do How about a Circuit de la Sarthe (sp?) track compition too
I'll try to draw up some guidelines for tomorrow and have one of the mods post it up so they can edit it at any time in the future. My thoughts are: 1) one track, one car - no mods, only tires to keep it as close to stock feeling as possible so you can really work on smoothing out that line. 2) the car would be from the same country as the track 3) have a contest ran from wednesday to wednesday, post up scores, and the following week, another track and car from another country. Thoughts?
1)I like 2)I really like 3)Would be good because the laptimes would drop as the week goes on, also would allow people with crazy schedules to compete at their leisure. Additional thought: Start the thread each week with a Poll (containing 3 to 4 track/car combos)that closes at a certain time, as soon as the poll closes w/ a winner, the competition is on.
I just turned in a barn-burning ring run of 10:58 in the vintage '76 GTI. Took a pretty sweet picture of it cresting a hill, all four tires in the air. VW used to run a magazine ad with the title "Fly GTI", with the exact same shot. Being an old school watercooled VW fan, I was quite pleased with myself. Except for the time. I probably shouldn't pursue a career in racing.
damn thats fast!!!..... i'm not having any trouble staying on the road, turn your "downforce" up and that should help the car keep in contact with the road, even at high speeds.........at least thats what's been working for me..... since i started this thread, and noone has said anything yet, i'll be the first to choose..... TRACK=Nurburgring Car= M3 CSL/modded/street tires 7:25.458 you beat that, and you choose the next track and car...
I like the idea of real world tracks, here's some that I've been running so far. Laguna Seca Nurburgring Circuit de la Sarthe I & II (Le Mans 24hr course) Infineon Raceway Sports car course (Sears Point) Suzuka F1 Circuit Monaco F1 Course As for what car to use, I've got a lot but some with not many mods. Anyone try the RUF yellowbird on the Nurburgring yet?
Done and done! 2nd time out ever in the CSL, with a couple beers in me, I got a 7'24.190. modded, on street tires. Let's see someone get sub 7:19.000 before we move on!
Ok, nevermind. 4th try out I clocked a 7'17.889. That includes one semi-major off and a couple of other costly mistakes. I am starting to think that 7'03.00 is in the cards for the maniac who wants to dedicate the next few days to this task...Otherwise, let's keep the CSL and move to a different track. Suggestions?
