No its not a sex change thread. I tried a 550 and loved everything about it but the weight and bulk. I live in an area that is all two lane roads and none of them go straight. I loved the torque and the stealth of the car but often felt the weight of the car making the twisties more of a chore than I wanted, especially the tighter sections. I traded that car on a really nice 355 and found the balance and size to be very nice on the tighter roads here. However,, after driving the other day, I realized that long distance stints would not be very comfortable and we wanted to make some road trips this year including 700+miles to the rampage event. I like to sit really upright but to really fit in the car, I had to tilt the seat back a bit more than preferred and leg room is tight. Its great for most of the 1 or 2 hour drives but thats about it. I took some drives in 360's and found the fit to be perfect. I spent a few weeks searching for the right car that fit all my needs and budget and finally found it. Titanium/black with factory roll bar, racing seats, tubi, challenge grill, 3m paint protection and the right price. I really wanted a car with racing seats as I find them much more comfortable and supportive. The rest of the options this car has were all important and great to have already installed. Its a euro car, which is not a problem for me, and according to the shop that did the ppi, one of the fastest 360's they have driven. Anyway, its on the truck and winding its way across the country destined for Rifledrivers shop for a thorough 30k service.(better safe than sorry in my book). I'll post some more after I pick it up. Very exciting. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks hot! Did you get a chance to make sure the seats fit you. I understand that anything but the large will fit uncomfortably snug. I'm sure you have that figured out. Congrats!
Awesome!!! I really hope you will be able to meet up with us at Andrettis. I'll be posting the route shortly.
The interior shots are of two different cars... Notice the 5 point belts in one, and the standard 3 point belts in the other. And a factory roll bar???
I noticed that too, but the pic with the racing harness also has the factory safety belt there, so it could be the same car, just the racing harness has been taken out.
Kyle, you got it, belts were taken out but come with the car and will go back in as needed. Vince, good talking tonight, Andrettis it is! Darth, I agree, the titanium really shows the lines beautifully.
Congrats! IMO, titanium/black is the most flattering color combo for the 360 coupe. A titanium/black 6-speed is even better! Happy driving!
At least one other sane person to drive with on that drive. I've got bets on who's going to get taken away by the Police on that drive. Seriously, great car. Dale: Are you going? Art
That was a nice car for the money. I think the asking price was around $100k-110k. Who did the PPI for you? Was it F40? David
I'm gonna try. Between moving into new house and working for a living. But if I go, I'm going to drive. Dale
911fan, thanks, I concur! Dr Who, you betcha we're going to rampage. Art, does this mean that if I drive, you will too? Sounds to me like getting there is going to be half the fun!
She got loaded on Sat and is all the way up front and on top. I am so excited. I have shipped a lot of cars over the years but the anticipation still thrills me. Must be the kid in me. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Simply beautiful. Why aren't all cars made like that I'd be interested to know how you feel it compares to the 355, once you've had chance to drive it properly, as I'm thinking of going down the same route myself
John, You are going to love this car. Check out my profile picture. You can see the seats, but you can't see the tubi and rear challenge grille!
John - Congratulations. The car looks stunning. Looking forward to the notes on similarities / differences. HOT-T stuff!
john, great looking car, in the pictures the seat bolster doesnt look that bad so it should not be a big issue. cant wait to detail the car for you.talk to you next week. bob willis auto concierge auto detailing
4re Bob, so we are cross county twins separated in shipping! Thanks for the heads up and the pic. Thanks for the good wishes guys, its one of the things I really appreciate about this site. It is positive and supportive while being educational too and of course some good laughs, intentional or not! Great combo. I will surely post more pics when I get to pick her up. AFTER Brian and Bob get a crack at doing their magic. The cars been in storage for the winter, with just a start up and roll around evey couple of weeks, so its dusty and just needs the care of a new owner if you know what I mean. Amazing how good the titanium looks even when its not at its cleanest.
What a great example-- titanium, 6 speed, racing seats. You have excellent taste, your 355 was a favorite of mine as well. Enjoy in good health.
