ok, so now im a 348 speciale owner ,and belong to a "speciale exclusive "owners club. id like to know who else out there has one. And if we can put together actually how many are still out there! ps-i have no problems with any other 348 owners, i'm just trying to get a realistic idea of where the series cars are...... mine is 1994 #98737 which is number ? of 15? whos next?
Darron, My buddy in PA has one. Not sure what number. Cool car. Red of course. Where do you live in MD? I spend almost every other weekend in O.C. during the summer. My friend has a house in Fenwick Island. If I don't fly down, I usually can be found tooling around O.C. in my 308QV. It's parked at Secrets a lot, unless I'm feeling like a redneck and hit the Purple Moose and other downtown watering holes. John
i used to go to both o.c. and dewey , and i think ill start again with the car... i thought about seacrets, but isnt that a little scary to park there? i remember some crazy times! they have changed alot though...
At minimum, looks like you were very, very close to the end of the US market only Speciale run, as some say though 100 348 Serie Speciales were to be built, 115 were built... Does that 115 include a uh, special 4 348's for UK - "Serie Spaziale" or sometimes called "Maranello Speciale," I don't know. If I understand correctly, 348 Speciales were 93's - with scant few 94's (intro'd in December '92 at L.A. Auto Show), and serial #'s ran from 930xx - 987xx.
Mine is #55, just bought it from Davey Jones. I live in South East Virginia. The plate on the passenger door frame states, #55 of 100.
funny i cant seem to find any other 1994 speciale 348 ss cars , not challenge, not b , but targa .. or for that matter detailed info on them, where they are, if they are....
They are around, I've seen a few on ebay. Also, there was one here in SF - red TS #5 of 15 several years ago. It was originally from NY shipped to California and then sold a month later. I wonder what happened to it. I never saw it since.
MDshore348, Mine is #93. I live in Houston. Does your front spoiler have the extended lower lip? I was under the impression that all SS had this front spoiler/lip extention. From your profile picture I could not see it.
previous owner never replaced the damaged one, im looking for one as soon as i make my own driveway spoiler friendly . anyone have a damaged one i can buy ?
That one is actually red/tan. That guy is out of his mind asking $70,500 for a car with 34,000 (35,000?) miles. Oh, #20/100 here. Most of you know this, but I might add that my particular Speciale was used as Ferrari's show car to introduce the Serie Speciale back in December, 1992 at the L.A. Auto Show.
There were actually 6 cars made for 92. I, FOW sold a 92 a couple of times. It was on the cover of Cavallino, for the US Intro. The rest were built in 1993. 94's I don't think so, since most 94's were spiders with the same horsepower (315) and same rear track width. The rest were regular 348's , tb, ts's and 348 Challenge cars.
i have my orig window sticker it says 1994 serie speciale . many say up to 15 cars were made in 1994. my door jamb says feb 94 build date
Anyone else have a problem with the leather coming unwrapped on the interior parts on either side of the rear window?
I have a list of most of the Speciales that were made, and I can tell you that at least 22 Speciales were made during model year 1992. The rest of the 100 Speciales (after all, the plates on the cars do say "X of 100") were made for the 1993 model year. It seems that for the 1994 model year, Ferrari took their 348 scraps from the factory and called them Speciales or Challenge cars. (Sorry about the word "scraps" ) I have that issue of Cavallino magazine (February/March 1993), and my car was on the cover! It's the car from FoW. What a small world... truely amazing...
i guess my car is a pretty "scrap" car then . oh i think it was my car on the front of the magazine.... you'll never know
