You guys are lucky to have families to interFERE with your Ferrari Driving. Great drive today, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, 74 to Grove Park, 25 year oild Scotch, back to Lake Lure at night, wonderful dark blind curves. MY EARS ARE RINGING. It's when they stop that I will begin to worry.

I had one of those "you coulda had a v8 moments", I'll drive the Dragon Tomarrow, just came out of the blue when one of the bikers reminded me that it was there!! Let's go guys...

Also, I talked to the Grove Park, they will be happy to poivide us with some perks this spring, ie, free pass for the ladies to the day spa...dinner, ect.

I really believe FCA needs to have an event here. It is the Breakers of the Blue Ridge Parkway...

I'd love to see something like this be put together...This would be something that would need to organized to a tee though, no room for error on this stretch of asphalt.

We're already working on it. Group rates have been secured at Grove Park, spa discounts arranged, and a date picked. I've got all the information on my PC at the office -- if somebody can just give me a shout on Monday I'll get the details.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: my first goal for 2005! What a drive, many men live a lifetime and do not live to enjoy such a weekend as this.

Tonight I am at the Inn at Brevard, dinner at Hobnobs, Crown Royal in hand, and the afterglow of the best day ever. Ringing ears, numb and washed out, fully satisfied from the day. The ride on 28 is a teaser for what is to come. Fast sweeping curves, with tight corkscrews in between.

The Dragon is to be experienced. An all out sprint from one end to the other. No rules, no patrols, and things I had never imagined. Who would have thought you'ld see minibikes, mini motorcycles, and all of the fast bikes as well. The mini bikes really were only mini in stature. Most have more horsepower to weight than our cars.

The ride on the lake was incredible. It was faster, mabe better than the Dragon in some regards. The pavement is new, and ready to be explored. The lack of traffic and naked trees make the drive better. You can see the road ahead, the lay of the land, and the many lakes and rivers.

If you are going to do the Dragon, now is the time!

I wouldn't count on that. I was up there for the Miata event last summer. We had maybe 150 Miatas and it seemed like there was one smokie for every one of us.

I'm told they also patrol by plane on occasion.

No patrols, I almost drove back today, but instead ran up 276 to the parkway, back down, then 64 to 178, I forgot how great 178 is to hWY 11! Then over to Anderson where I am now!

    Gentlemen -

I have the details on our Asheville weekend. It's being arranged by Robert McQueen (of the famed Greensboro Euro Drive):

"We're organizing a weekend to Asheville, NC April 2,3. The tentative plan would be to arrive Friday early afternoon with a possible photo shoot in front of the Biltmore House with a candlelight tour and dinner (in the Biltmore). Saturday would be to drive the "dragon" (very conservative speeds only) returning that evening with a banquet at the Grove Park Inn. The ladies/wives could do a day at the spa (Saturday) while we drive. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit the spa it is first class. If there is enough interest, we will be able to get reduced rates at the Grove Park Inn and Biltmore. I believe the Grove Park will let us park in front of the hotel and protect the cars. If you haven't heard of the "Tail of the Dragon" you can find it with pictures on the internet. Again, this will not be a high speed run! All are invited, even if they don't have a sports car, there should be plenty of seats for riders."

If you have questions, let me know and I'll try to route them to Robert.

    -Daniel
