Had STEBRO test pipes and muffler installed in my 348. I took pictures of the process and just got back sound bytes from a friend. The resonance is amazing! A nice deep booming sound.

First shot is the STEBRO Wasp..apparently symbolic of the bussing sound made by their early mufflers (I got the history from Dan while I was in the shop).

2nd & 3rd is my car on the lift.

4th is a shot of the big ugly original can the car comes with.

I am interested in you thoughts on the exhaust, I have always heard that stebro's do not have the best craftmanship. (Whether this is true or not, I am not sure)

Shot 8 - shows the oxygen sensor (larger of the 2) and the heat sensor after the cats have been removed.

Shot 9 - shows a broken weld where the pipe to the cat enters the main body. It didn't seem to affect the car as I passed an emissions test with it in. I am planning to get another test with the cats out to see the differential. On the emissions test (cats in) you are allowed 200ppm and the cat tested 12ppm so I've lots of room to spare. I'll update when I get the test done

Shot 10 - my new muffler. Interesting feed from the dual headers into the top of the can

Auraraptor - if you want to display them on a stand then yes they could be cleaned up a bit. Check out the sound byte and let me know if you like the music.

Yes, not as pretty or polished as a Tubi, but I love the sound and for an undercar exhaust the quality is quite adequate. Have you tried it with the tip inserts removed? I only do that at the track, but it IS awesome that way (!) and is a great extra feature that Stebro provides that Tubi doesn't.

Looks good!! But for some reason I can't get the sound bite....Umm one other thing though..It appears that your clutch housing has a fair amount of oil/grease flying out the sides. From the looks of the photos I would say that your voith wheel is in need of a reseal and a repack of grease. I would get that looked at in the spring. You may also want to have the slave cylinder checked for leakage aswell. It is very common for the seal to leak.

I hope you enjoy your new system..nothing like the sound of an uncorked 348 at 7k!!

Thanks for the appraisal Tom. I haven't felt anything that indicates a clutch repack (should I fell anything?..shdder, etc.?). There are no inserts in the car now. They are sitting in the garage.
