If the local/regional FCA held a nice semi-formal Christmas party at an Atlanta area eatery, how many of you would be interested in attending with a spouse or significate other? Cost would likely be in the $50 per person range.

The Fiat / Lancia guys (the ones that put on ICD) are going to have a party with a reserved room at Giovannis. We were going to send the Ferrari guys an invite. Also we were thinking of doing a "little" parking lot show. Dates are almost determined.

Giovanni's! Yum. I'd really like to attend, but I'm in Dallas. I remember Giovanni's - they cook the most delicious Italian food. Almost worth a drive to Atlanta... ;-)

I should be available on the 11th, and would probably come solo. This isn't a formal affair, is it?

Here's our club annoncement for our Christmas party, but first a side note about the Lotus show last week. Seems that in talking with Vinny (Giovannis owner) that there were some people who left him hanging with 4 or 5 unpaid for pizzas! I remember over hearing one of the Ferrari guys talking about being in the right place for a "free" meal. Not nice, Vinny is a great guy, and the officers of many different clubs know him quite well, so I'm asking that in order for car clubs in the future to hold events at Giovannis, to be honest and upstanding.

with that out of the way, here is our announcement and invitation:

We would like to see a nice turnout of Italian machinery for a non-judged show. Very casual.

I'm probably the guy you heard mention a "free" meal, but in my case it was genuine: a fellow at our table, whose name I do not recall, agreed to pay for our pizza and drinks, and I saw him put the money (which included enough for tip and tax) on the table. (Naturally, I thanked him profusely.)

I don't know who didn't pay, but they are wrong, wrong, wrong! If Giovanni's is nice enough to host us, we need to be thankful.

Although the official start time is 5 PM, I think we ought to try to get there at 4 so everyone can look at the cars while there is still sufficient daylight! (Remember, it is December.)

Just got back from Giovanni's and, while the cold, clammy weather may have kept some away, we still had a decent turnout: 5 Ferraris, 2 Fiats, 2 Lancias, an Alfa and a Lamborghini.

The Ferrari turnout was interesting: one each of the following: 308, 328, 348, 355 and 360! So nearly 30 years of V-8 history in one parking lot. Someone suggested that we should line the cars up in order but the consensus was that it was too cold to go outside and move them!

The conversation and food were both great, and I want to thank Fiat Lancia Unlimited for covering the soft drinks and desserts. Nearly everyone walked off with a prize (some more coveted than others!) and I think all of us were glad we went.
