I am still learning about the Dino, here are the questions.

    1) I have 2 different size keys, one for the doors and one for the ignition. Does everyone have 2 keys?

    2) Where is the Dinoplex located? I only saw the coil on the right hand side of the trunk.

    3) I see a belt attached to the corner of the trunk. What is it for?

    4) The back plate for the trunk/fuel/hood pulls has shattered, how do I disconnect the cables?

    Thanks!

1 Yes. and another for the glove box and hood pulls if it's a GTS.

2 Next to the coil, behind a removable cover. There are two coils, one for Dinoplex and one for back up when running off points.

3 To support the tool kit.

4 Disconnect each cable at it's relevant catch and pull them through a bit until you can see the fastening behind the handles. Frayed ends will be a headache here, be warned!

I looked all over the trunk, still couldn't find the Dinoplex. There is only one cylinder thing labeled "Magnet Marell" behind a piece of cover on the wheel arc. Where else should I look?

The picture posted by dm_n_stuff is for a European car, if your car is a US spec then what you are seeing may be this.................

There is the possibility that your dinoplex has been replaced by an aftermarket ignition system, if you don't see the dinoplex, shoot a picture of the indicated area and post it.

You're gonna need to subscribe to do that.

That is it, unused wires and plugs dangling.

Which wire is for the rpm signal? May be it is hooked up to a wrong wire?

    Thanks!

    Ray.

I'll take a look at the wiring diagram I have and see what is what. It's a little tough to tell from that photo, but clearly you do not have the stock ignition system there. The Dinoplex appears to be.....MISSING?

Trace the wires back. Look at the backside of your tach and see what color the wire is, then check the rear area for that wire.

Is there any manufacturer's notation on the coil (Object that the heavy red wire feeds into?)

Looks like you've got some trouble there, parts missing and wires taped up etc.

There should be a brown wire ( marked with red arrow) that leaves the rev counter head and connects to the control box (seems yours is missing) and then to the Digiplex (again can't see it in your pictures)

Here's a diagram of where the wires go.............

Last Sun. while out for a drive in my Lola I came across a Dino. They are so pretty on a leaf strewn winding road.

    Jim,

I get looks all the time.. I do love the way it looks on the road. I'd love the opportunity to shoot your P3/4 winding down that road.
