For the last 9 years I've been driving my F 40 on permits.
I am now the proud owner of an F40 on
CLUB PLATES. The first F 40 in AUstralia on Club Plates.

    Brilliant !!!!

Congratulations, let's hope a few more go out and do it as well, .... it's such a STUPID rule that 30yo HOS US Mustangs and Caddies can drive around but LHD supercars that are maintained to such a high standard are refused registration.

Bevan in QLD should do it for one !!

Congrats Gil, look forward to seeing it more often on the road. I would like to do a proper photoshoot of your F40 at some stage. However, I promised 360C one of his Scuderia ages ago which I will need to do first.

In Vic. your car has to be 25 years old or more to be able to get Club Plates. The first F40's were released in 1987 so that's 25 years ago. To get FULL rego , your car has to be 30 years old. Wether it's LHD OR RHD doesn't seem to matter anymore.
An F40 would never get FULL rego becasue you'd need an engineers report and it wouldn't pass that without some serious modifications.......like the door extrusions/ride height 100mm et.c etc.
So I've been waiting for 9 years to do this........that's almost a decade. Patience is an F40

The best part of it is there is no stamp duty on purchasing a car.

the cops in Mornington aren't going to believe this, OR like it. They know the car and always give me a hard time with my 28 day permits.......which I don't need any longer.......HOORAY

Yes, you should have the papers elaborately framed and ready to hand over in a flourish as soon as the first shift think they've seen and "got" you..
