+1. I think the back looks like lopsided DVD cases sitting on top of each other. I love the car for what it can do but it really reminds me of a Tesla. The Tesla is a great looking car as well but it's not a good thing when the two can be mistaken for each other. Just my opinion, still love the McLaren.
I have seen it a few times now and it is just underwhelming to look at. It's probably an amazing tool on the track but it's too bad it looks so uninspiring and yes that rear is just a mess.
In the Flesh....Its Gorgeous! The rear haunches are definetly Ferrari of yore! The rear tire width looks weak.. looks like 295's should be 350's, Otherwise very Potent looking I like it , definetly a step into future design without Lambo bling. A modest supercar In person, its smaller than you'd expect. Now the Panamera...Thats a disaster..visually.. But they cant keep em on the shelf????
He's passing on that one. I would love to drive it though...but it's too rich for me at this point in life .
Porsche hit a home run with the Panamera. It's selling like hot cakes despite being quite expensive. And i dont see Panamera V6, i see turbos most of the time.
Was a great event last night and the car looked magnificent. Very well attended and having the MP4-12C outside under the lights literally stopped traffic.
Every angle is for a purpose..... and function is a beautiful thing. That rear diffuser creates a lot of downforce and necessitates the high exhaust, which keeps heat high and piping short. However, I also have a Panny turbo that I love, so go figure.
The car was also at the Chowder lunch on Tuesday, where the Managing Director of McLaren USA made a presentation and handed out marketing kits. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually, I've always thought the Evora looked more like the 458. Especially the "pinched" waist and rear hips treatment, with some side & rear window style borrowed from the Enzo. Saw an Evora in the metal for the first time last week, as a matter of fact. Was surprised at how much better its form looked to me than in pics. The proportions of that car are spot on. I love it. But then again it is really all about the performance for me. The looks to me are purposeful which really gets me juiced. I look forward to flogging mine on the track later this summer. FWIW, I love the look of my Scuderia and not the 458 as i think the 458 looks too cartoon-ish so you all can now acuse me of poor style.....
i like the 430 styling better than the 458 too, just as i like the 360 styling better than the f430. no denying the performance, but if it's all about performance you can go buy a noble gtr/gumpert/ascari basically kit cars that offer knock out performance for cheaper than most ferraris or lamborghinis. styling and performance go hand in hand for me. one without the other is just a waste.
Last year it was Spyker at the Chowder lunch at Sardi, and they used my car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
