From the article: James Bond and Iron Man effects will be the main inspiration and theme of the home. Some parts of the home will look like a reclaimed castle, while other parts will exhibit a contemporary feel. The home will also be surrounded by amazing Berghoff Design Group-landscaped gardens, including an intricate hedge maze.

Peterson Architecture faced a time crunch with a six-month deadline to design the home and get it approved. With hard work and dedication, Peterson Architecture, and the team led by architect Scott Carson AIA LEED, made that deadline with time to spare. The goal is to have the home complete in a record-breaking 2.5 years led by contractor Tom Argue, Argue Custom Homes. Peterson said, “We are up for the challenge. All of our other projects thus far have prepared us for this major project.”

With extensive experience designing night clubs, restaurants and clubhouses, Peterson Architecture is taking their business to an extreme level without compromising their quality and integrity. “We listen to what our clients want and that’s the strength of Peterson Architecture.”
The ‘smart house’ will boast an endless array of amenities including an indoor bowling alley, indoor basketball court, indoor swimming pool, underground caves, secret passages, staff quarters, the first residential IMAX movie theater, multiple interior garages, zip lines across courtyards from one part of the house to another, multiple pool complexes with waterfalls, hidden grottos, a lazy river and a three-story night club. WOWWWW!!!! Talk about over-the-top! You would never have to leave your house, it has everything you need!

Who's the owner? That sketch certainly doesn't look like 100,000sqft to me. A LOT of it must be below ground.

    Plenty of jobs.

Our neighbor David Duffield is building a 70,000+ sq ft house with a 26,000 sq ft garage building in our neighborhood.

The trucks and crews coming and going is what has most of the people po'd.

Thats bigger than the White House BTW.

The reason for such excess seems obvious. You might as well spend it here, because you aren't going to take it with you.

That is amazing. First residential IMAX?! Underground caves. I would love to walk around the house. I might get lucky if I even get to see it when it's completed.

I do like the Iron Man house, especially the garage.

I wonder who this is, and if I've ever seen him before.

What's the point of going LEED on something like this? It reminds me of an obese buddy in high school. He orders two pizzas, just for him, then demands we stop and get diet coke instead of regular because he's "watching the calories."

We have a guy in Austin that's been building a "castle" for about 7 or 8 years. It has a massive footprint that looks like it could be near 100,000sqft. At one point I thought it was going to be smaller but I think someone was telling me about a different "castle" off of the same road. I really have no idea how big it is but it's sprawling. It looks more like a village sitting on the hilltop. Important people can petition to have their tax records removed from the county internet search, so I can't find anything on it.

He lost a few friends in Incline Village a few years ago too.....bought 5 lakefront properties on Lakeshore, plus 2 across the street, blew them all down (saved one and used it as a shop space for the contractor), and built 1 very big house and dock + a cottage for his parents....

Incline Village is a small lakefront town at Tahoe. There are probably limited lakefront lots - the slope to the lake is fairly steep then you have all the parks and tourist stuff.

Buying land is easy, lake front is a different story. Same deal here. Guy up the street is building a massive house and buying up each neighbor as it expands. The neighbors are all upset because he has been working on it for a few years now. I think it looks great and kudo's to him.
