In the spirit of stooges heckling each other I propose this new thread "ernie lets fix your car". The goal of this thread will be to keep it at the top of the postings at all times until Ernie's car is running. So Ernie lets fix your car so we can go have fun or you are always going to see this post first when you open the 348/355 section. So what are you doing Saturday? Oh man...Erine is going to really going to kill now.

Funny pics but it's probably a good thing Ernie has a good sense of humor or he'd have gone postal on someone by now. He's had a heck of a time with that car....that alone will make a guys crazy but you guys are rubbing salt in his wounds. Hang in there Ernie, hope the issues can be easily resolved but it seems nothing is easy on these cars....

That's some good stuff there, Pap! :)

Hey, FBB- if you're reading this- after all the bashing Jetfixr used to do on Vettes, he's got a new Z06 at Lingenfelters getting a 660hp conversion. 0-200mph in 29 seconds. Gonna be one bad mutha. (He still has his 355)

I'm donating 2 latest version spider ECU chips (aka challenge programing) to the transformation. Don't ask how I got them and no I don't have anymore.

Ernie has a great sense of humor!

FBB, I've got an eprom reader/burner; can I make a copy of the ECU code before you plug them into Ernie's car? It would be interesting to do a file compare between the code from those chips and earlier chips to find out the values that were changed and at which memory locations.

    :D

I didn't see any "problem" listed. I'm thinking the stooges are willing it to break for free beer and pizza....? Have I figured out the ploy or is something bad wrong again...? Hope not, Ernie's been through enough with that car. It should be all new by now ;-) The kid pics are GREAT BTW LMAO!!!

Well T H I S time it's the stupid clutch, and an injector.

The clutch is hard as a rock, and won't disengage. So I'm guessing it may be busted fingers in the clutch. But won't know for sure till I get it pulled out, and I don't feel like pullin it out.

    Bingo.

I am totally frustrated with this stupid car. If it isn't one thing with it, it's another, and then after I've dealt with the other, a new problem seems to rear it's head, and then another one after that, and then one more after that.

    For example.

Let's say I pull the clutch, fix it, and put in a new set of injectors. Problems solved right? Wrong. Because of time my timing belt is due, and because it has been sitting doing nothing since late last year = not good for a rubber timing belt.

So your thinking, just put on a new belt and then it's done right? WRONG. I really need to replace the oil pump chain tensioner with the upgrade, and then tackweld the pulley as Daniel-san and D.Helms have suggested. Which mean tearing down the bottom of the block to get to the tensioner, and WHO KNOWS WTF I'll find once I'm in there???

    It's done then right?

    WRONG!

The right hand head light has busted AGAIN. The last time was because of metal fatigue right at the mounting brackets resulting in the housing sagging down and getting caught on the lip that runs along the front, above the bumper. So I just went with a quicky fix years ago, and had an acquaintance weld it together for me. The weld is still good but now it broke in a NEW spot. So I fix that and then it's done right?

    WRONG!!!!

But I'll stop there because I'm starting to piss myself off at this pile of ****, and that may mean it sits even LONGER. And no I'm not joke about the last wrong, there is PLENTY more I can list off but won't for my own sanity.

So......................I just let it sit till I'm done being pissed, and I'm not done being pissed.

All right dude, you are giving me no choice. I'm gonna have to pull out the cell phone and call Mrs. Ernie, the long suffering partner in this sorry drama. It's time to put out dude. Plan the BBQ, get your parts in order and call out the Stooges! This time we trash YOUR place! :D
