Nigel Mansell's old F40 with Special Order Interior ! Enzo's present to his best driver - (at the time)...Should be worth a few extra quid ??? http://www.qv500.com/classifieds/classifieds.php?a=2&b=43 Seb
it wont be there car they only sell other peoples so if you could find the owner you would get it for about £130k that sounds good only problem is driving it on the road after 20miles round town you would want to catch the bus as they are not a driver friendly car for the road
Anyone else see the custom grey F40, RHD with grey leather interior that Talacrest had last year? It was the Sultan's apparently, and looked an absolute abortion - the interior reminded me of all that was wrong with the 80's and the exterior paintwork resembled undercoat. A respray back to Rosso apparently clinched the deal when it sold! Ben.
According to Franco Gozzi, Nigel sold the car the day after he got it. Pissed the old man off. So, from an ownership standpoint, BFD.
Really? It got repainted? I saw the car in Brooklands for the Auto Italia show (you see the pic i took of it all over the internet now). I thought it looked good in gray. Not sure about the interior tho. Where did you hear that it was repainted?
I hadn't heard it had been repainted, but am not surprised- it looked awful in the flesh. Not a nice colour and a very poor finish. Leather in an F40 interior jars too.
He's got us all thinking he can have any bird he likes, but what is actually happening is he's getting dumped every two weeks, so has to go find another one. As soon as they work out what he's really like they're off !
I thought it was Guy at Talacrest who told me that! Though it could've been the 'salesman' at Maranello who offered me a test drive in a 360 Challenge... before I enquired about its road legality
I have it on very good authority that the RHD Talacrest F40 *is* now Rosso, and those bloody awful grey leather seats have been replaced with red sports seats. Car now showing approx 6,000kms.
I liked the grey color. The seats were hideous tho. I'm kicking myself for not taking more pics of it when i saw it.
Bukem, I remember seeing an F40 at Talacrest, it was in the workshop area the day I collected my '91 Giallo 348TS. The F40 I saw looked hideous, the interior saggy seats and dash were out of a Testarosa according to Guy Tedder. That grey bodywork was not only drab, it had been beated up all around, it needed a full body paint just to pull the car back. I remember Guy telling me the bonnet on a previous F40 they had cost £5K to get nice enough painted finish, ouch! I vageuly recall the grey one possibly wasn't even an original factory car(?) rather a kit one built by some other licensed reputable builder post the factory run?
Yep, thats the car. Ex - Brunei. From what i've heard, the way you describe the car makes it sound like it wasn't that bad compared to others there.
