I never fall for these, but this one about got me because I do use Paypal quite a bit. I know they would never have me open up an attachment, especially one with a scr extension. I did a search and sure enough it's a hoax...

Rob, I too almost fell for this hoax... I started to fill in the fields until I got to the one asking for my PIN#. I knew I had never given PP this info, and never wld - I cancelled the reply and fwded the msg to PP's fraud dept. They confirmed it was bogus. Gotta be on your toes while surfing!

Yea, they get sneaky, and there are a number of sites out there with info on the paypal scam. Big thing to watch is that the email account is the actual one they sent the message to. I usually get these in my hotmail account, which raises a flag, because I use my work email for paypal!

I got a great one today, an offer for kiddie porn and they were going to automatically deduct my CC account. Closer reading showed they were trying to link me to a website, or maybe it's a sting. Either way, DELETE, DELETE. DELETE.
