I agree. The shame is for that kind of effort and expense he could have brought a wrecked Ferrari back to life.
i don't really like this kind of modification, (like people who modify mr2 in 348 or 355...) but i have to say that it's a awesome and really difficult job !
I agree with you. A bit "rare" looking replica, but i think that the NSX body was too beautiful to made him that... rare replica, rare people...
I agree and I would have left it there if it had retained the Honda/Acura badges, then it would have been a very special NSX. Now with the prancing horse and the Ferrari badges, it's just a crappy replica. /Peter
All the more embarassing for Ferrari owners when that "NSX" gets trounced at a stoplight by a bone stock Porsche 911, Nissan 350Z etc. owner who gets to tell their friends about the F50 they took down....
Interesting car to use as a replica donor. But I agree with Huber, this *looks* like good work, in those little pictures.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. On one hand the NSX is a beautiful car to begin with and a shame to mess with it. And on the other hand the work looks very well done and although not very "original" in that it somewhat copies the F50 it does flow rather well with the lines of the car. Hell, at least they started with a great car like the NSX as a base and not a freakin' Fiero.
Can you imagine if/when they get into an accident with that thing?!?! Remember When Alonso hit those foam markers at Indy this year? BOOOOM!!! explosion of foam fragments! Har! Jim
looks like a lot of time and expense went into the project. For a kit car it looks real nice, but loose the ferrari emblems. With those on the car it makes just another tacky replica, should not be parked next to other ferraris, One look under the hood tells the true story.
I wouldve done a custom original body, but that does look good. Not that I condone the production of such rip-offs, but that is one well-done car. Id take an early 550 over that, and the 550 probably cost a lot less. EDIT: Looking at the pics some more, this view: http://ahru.co.jp/usercar/002/stage11/055b.jpg Looks quite a bit like an early Enzo prototype, the one with the halfway-finished wing and F50 lights.
That car looks really good! I will agree that the Honda Badges should have been put back on..but the guy spent some good money and took his time. He started with a fine car..the NSX and made it into what he wanted and did a good job of it.
... and ended up with a car that is better looking than a F50 Not sure why, but it is a good job. Personally I think the F50 is a disaster from a styling point of view, so why anybody would replicate it I cannot understand ... Pete
I'm not for replicas, even though this one seems to be of a good caliber, and IMO, a fine NSX was needlessly sacrificed. I wonder if the owner is going to join a Ferrari club or an NSX club....since this car seems to not be admissable to either at this stage. Kinda makes you go...hhmmmmmm?
What an idiot. I can't believe he would waste that kind of money when he could save another 6 months and get a real one! What a disgrace. Anyone have pictures of the Fiero turned into a 355?
Gee I want YOUR job if you honestly think that he only had to save for another 6 months to buy a genuine F50. I could save for 50 years and be lucky to reach the purchase price ... Pete
