nice car. btw, i noticed the baked on water spots ont he exhaust tips. a little netal polish will clean them up nicely
just curious why most SC owners have the seat covers on? i was just at a rally and there were two SC's there and both had the seat covers on.
As A European CS owner am curious to know what the yellow wire is...looks like an electric cable...very strange... Also how do you get your seat covers on? We can't because of the harnesses....? Did you get the painted stripe or sticker? How many kms/miles so far? I've done 9500 kms (6500 kms of track) 5 sets of tyres and 3 sets of pads...
chal, i think it's a battery charger, as he doesnt drive it enough to charge the batt. ; the manual said something about charging it ??? how are your rotors looking??? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yah, i was charging my battery with a friend, then we went out on a drive down PCH (Driving with the seat covers is not difficult, and we keep them on because the seats are textile-covered so we try not to use them as much). The stripe is hand painted as a $5000 option. The rotors are doin great. I'll post pics of my 575M Maranello once I bring it back from L.A. Please post any pics that you guys have.
So you bought the seats, but not to sit in?? Great looking Stradale though. Enjoy it in good health! And I'm sure the next owner will be happy with the mint condition seats!! (just some good natured ribbing... welcome aboard!)
That's really funny! But seriously, what is it for? I asked someone else if they had ever seen that and they told me that all US delivered Ferraris get fitted with the wire by dealers so that they do not have to turn the battery off! Find that really hard to believe as there is nothing simpler than turning the battery off as there is a switch in the front trunk. All you have to do is wait about 20 secs when you turn it back on before starting so that the computers recalibrate themselves... So what is it for?
The rotors are fine - basically no wear whatsoever. However, was at Spa the other day for the Ferrari -Maserati festival and we had to replace the front pads after 340 kms of track and they were almost new when i started. Unbelievably expensive. Fronts alone cost 1700 euros! Guess you cannot have that kind of stopping power with no fade (actually gets better as the rotors get hotter!) for free. At the "La source" hairpin was pulling 7000 rpm in 5th at the 100 metre board and the hairpin gets taken at around 50 km/h in 2nd...... Hope the rotors last as they are REALLY expensive!
do you have the size of the pads when they have been replaced or any pictures of the surface? there is another CS thread about brakes and we try to compile data 200 miles on the track and pads done - mhh - I assume it was a high speed track - do you activate ABS while braking? - what is your brake wear with other cars? I am sure that you had a lot of fun at the track - the CS is a blast
