New RM Monaco Auction Replaces Ferrari Leggenda??

    RM announced a new Monaco auction held during the Grand Prix Historique de Monaco next May. They haven't said whether it is replacing the Ferrari Leggenda sale or not, but it is the weekend before the traditional Leggenda date and the Leggenda sale is not on RM's calendar for 2010.

    Also, the headline car for the Monaco event is a 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Cabriolet by Pininfarina, so that pretty much settles it, right?

    coincedentally I've sent an e-mail to RM a few days ago about a possible Leggenda e Passione edition in 2010 but so far no reply. As soon as I get a reply I'll report back here.

    p.s. with the Mille Miglia Tribute one would expect that it would be more interesting to stage an auction at Fiorano again in the same period.

    Good catch. It certainly looks like the RM Maranello auction is off. Maybe another house (Bonham's?) is going to take a swing at it. Too bad...I was planning to go next year.

    Another interesting twist is that the Grand Prix Historique de Monaco is only held every two years, so one wonders if this new Monaco sale will be every other year as well.

    RM Factory Auction and RM Monaco will alternate years from what I hear.

    Does anyone have seen the results of the Coys auction (Sat 24th Oct 2009 Auto Moto D‘ Epoca - Padova), not realy vintage but I was especially (and am) interested in the

    That is shame, we had already our trip every year to Monaco and also the trip to the RM auction in Maranello and now only once in 2 years to Italy.

    Confirmation from RM. Today I got this reply:

    Thank you for your email and interest.

    We are in discussions with Ferrari regarding the future schedule of the Leggenda e Passione sales. It is our plan to hold it every two years with the next sale in Maranello in 2011. We shall certainly keep you posted.
