I'll be new in Boston in about a week. Where is the local Ferrari dealership, and are there any good independent shops in the Boston area?

The local Ferrari dealership is Ferrari Maserati of New England, located in West Newton (a few miles west of Boston proper). 1203 Washington St.
West Newton, MA 02465, (617) 559-0123. The GM, Nick Scelsi, is a great guy and very trustworthy. They have a new Maserati sales manager, Natalia Escallon, who is incredibly helpful. www.ferrarine.com

As for independents, John Tirrell of Independent Ferrari Service, 508 238 4224, is one of my best friends, and he services everything from 275s to F40s to 360s. Located in South Easton, a few miles south of Rt. 128. www.independentferrariservice.com.

Also, the guys at Boston Sports Car in Weston are very friendly, and work on Lamborghinis, Porsches, BMWs, Alfa and other sports cars in addition to Ferraris. www.bostonsportscar.com

Lastly, a couple of guys here use KTR Performance in Ayer, about 30 miles west, off of Rt. 2. www.ktrperformance.com

    Hope this helps!

We have a small exotic shop in Malden, MA. I don't carry a lot of Fearrari's but we do have a 97 355 Spider, a 91 Diablo, a 03 X50 Turbo, an 02 C4S and a 00 Viper, along with other various corvettes and such. Check us out at www.baystatemotorsports.com

i think jdb was looking for service folks, not sales.

do you guys run a regular service biz up there as well?

Nice call, I misunderstood the question. We don't do service, just sales.

Of the available shops, does anyone have specific recommendations for paint work?

I have probably half a dozen small rock chips that I would like to get touched up. Also, my driver side rear wheel came off about a month ago and, while it is mechanically fixed, left some cosmetic scrapes on the paint on the driver's side wheel well. I'd like to see if anyone can touch it up without pulling the whole bumper and repainting it (although I know that may be my only choice).

Two great shops locally I can recommend. A very good friend of mine, Mike Noonan, runs Mike's Autobody in Malden, MA. www.mikes-autobody.com. He has been a Porsche club guy forever, does bodywork for everyone in the PCA I know. Also does a bunch of outsourced work for some big local German dealerships. He trained at Paul Russel before opening his open shop.

Also, Bob Hatch at Hatch & Sons. Bob is a great guy, and they are the outsourced shop for FoNE. Not cheap, but top notch work and well worth it.
