    I think it's the best technical mistake they've ever made :) :)

It might be the convertible 599.

    ...but what could it be?

    The updated 612?

Could it really be a simple mistake?

It's not a convertible. It would have be 600 GTS then...

Why would the updated 612 go backwards in terms of numbers? I think it could be a convertible 599, perhaps the technical mistake was typing a B instead of an S :D

Daniel- The 612 was actually 5748 cc, just like the 575s, but too many numbers for a name, so they rounded it up to 6 liters. With the HGTE out (last year of production for the 575s introduced the HGTC), they could indeed be thinking about a replacement for the 599 GTB, or just an update like the 550 to 575M, with direct injection, double clutch transmission, etc. 2007-2010 is already four years of 599s. 550 lasted 5 years, 575M 3 1/2 years, etc.

Would seem like the next replacement would be for the 612, the last of the belt-driven engine cars, but maybe not.

The 599 is now 3-and-a-bit years old. The HGTE package just came out. Isn't it a bit early for an update?

Certainly not too early to be thinking about it! The 2011 models should be coming out sometime in the next calendar year, making the car five years old. As tazandjan said, that's exactly how old the 550 was when it was was facelifted to become the 575M.

Sure, a technical mistake. Obama won't be raising taxes either. To quote Borat, "NOT". ;)

I think this will be the limited edition 599 GTO. Apparently it will be available at the end of the year.
