I'm driving to Colorado for Roland's BBQ. I'll be in Reno Wed. Night. After that it's a bit in the air. Though I'd like to be at Arches national Park Friday morning to take some pictures.

I'm calling this the Lone Player Run, seeing as it's just me. I wonder if I can get any stickers? An Idea for a funny sticker that I can make at home would be welcome.

I'll be taking 50 through Nevada and then 70 to Denver. If anybody is along the way and wants to have lunch or drive a bit of the way with me, send me a pm and we can exchange numbers.

it would great to meet some f-chatters along the way. I should have some time as I'm not planning any huge days on the way out.

I think that if you design something graphically you can can go to a shop that does vinyl lettering, etc and they can make what ever you want on a laser vinyl cutting machine-thingy. When I lived in Sydney I used a place for my rally car to make up the names for my co-driver and myself and its dead easy and wasn't expensive, either. One year we had beer signage all over the car that my buddy's company made up custom to fit the car, again in vinyl stick on.

I'm sure there are some artistic design-types out in F-chat land that could photochop some graphics on to your car that you could then scale up to 1:1. Post a side view of your car with request and see if there are any takers!!!

    Cheers
    Kevin

Where is Roland's ranch? Some of the best parts of US 50 are through Colorado. I-70 gets to be a bore with a lot of troopers.

Plus, take care if you plan on driving US 50 at night. You will see a lot of game crossing the road. Typical average is a Jackrabbit every 15 minutes or so. Coyote about every half hour, and a mule deer about every hour!

Ewwww, yes, Nevada HP has the Bee 3 radar unit too. It boasts POP speed readings. What that means is, radar detectors that do not have this feature will remain silent while the cop already has you clocked. What happened? The unit is designed to take speed readings faster than a radar detector can sniff out the signal. Radar detectors indicating the POP feature were upgraded since the release of the Bee 3.

V1 site shoots down the Bee 3 POP performance, but searching V1's site, nowhere does it say that the V1 even has it available as a feature. It's not boasted as one of the features to sniff out POP.

BTW, Why don't you hit I-80 and do a straight shot to the ranch? You could make good time.

80 to Salt Lake is truly no fun. I've made that run many times, 50 is one of my favorite roads. I'll take some pics and it will all be very clear. Plus, I've never been to Arches. I may take 80 on the way back if I feel pressed for time. But this is a vacation for me, so I'm going to enjoy as much as possible. :)

    Dale,

Roland's ranch is in Ft. Collins. I'm open to some other routes, how is 40 through the northern part of the state? I know what you mean about 50, one year I did Denver Reno in one stretch on 70 and 50, and at night it's very hard to see the road, and there animals everywhere. I had to drive really slowly the last couple of hours in fact ended up just pulling up behind a trucker and letting him do the work.

50 is a great stretch, just watch out for the "good ol boys" (NHP) in the middle of NV. They will usually let you go if youre under 100MPH w/ an EPA "wasting gas ticket"...it's $15 and no points on your license. Have fun!

Give me a chance to pull my maps. I did a drive once from Park City to Steamboat and then over to Boulder. Fanastic drive. I can't imagine doing it in a Ferrari.

Whut's the matter Malcomb? Too much vino in SD now-a-days? :)

Okay, here's the drive I did:

    1. Take US 40 to Dinosaur. If you are up for this type of thing, there is a really cool campground somewhere around Dinosaur that is on the White River. Watching the Moon rise is a hoot.

    2. Take US 40 to Steamboat. Views so-so. Steamboat is great!

    3. Pass Steamboat on US 40, you will hit CO 14. Take this road all the way to Ft. Collins. It is wild. You'll end up in a very high valley that I'm gonna guess is about 10,000 foot high. There are actually some folks living up there, so you can find gas and food. HW, I wouldn't doubt that these folks have ever seen a Ferrari up. It was very green and lush when I drove through, with ball lightening rolling down the mountains. Farm out, man.

Caution, if you take 34 and go through the RMNP, budget a lot of time. Them RVs don't move very fast.

    thanks for the tip Dale.

Can't wait to be on the road! See you all in COLORADO!!!!!
