I agree it is a beautiful car. When I shot the photo at the italian automezzi car show, there were many people admiring the car, but from a distance. Kind of funny, but most were a little skiddish to get closer than 5'. I didn't notice any imperfections in the exterior, and thought the color was outstanding to contrast the brakes with the tail lights. The black interior was in good shape and might have had some wear. I remember asking myself, Is it really that much? Didn't realize spyders were that high priced. I believe it said 122k on the data sheet. That being said, a beautiful car. Robb Williamson Centennial, Colorado
Beautiful car, but truthfully, to any Ferrari owner, the most beautiful one ever made is the one that's yours......
Damn, the Doc stole my line! The only thing perfect imo is the beautiful behind on that blonde. The 355 picture indeed is beautiful, but to each his own. Personally I like yellow 355s, and make mine a Berlinetta
I saw that 355 at Automezzi, its a really nice car, one of the best color combos I have seen on the 355. Robb, the sticker prce was 122k, i thought it was a little high too, but the car is basicly perfect, so it seems right.
"Smoke silver" is (was) a Mercedes color name, but it is more of a light gold tone, not really "silver" at all. I know because my 300E is smoke silver. John
beautiful car and great color.... but a ferrari is still corsa rossa.... no other car has that ferrari red.... it changes color as the lighting changes.... an in your face orange red in bright light... bright red at sun set and a very deep red as the light fades...with a tan interior... cant beat it
I totally agree...(in the color part only) that INGRID color is the most beautiful but it looks even better on 360 Spider with beige ragtop & 456's too speaking of Ingrid (Bergman)...anyone knows the story behind it.?
Hence, my question even more. Why would FoDenver call a Grigio Ingrid car "smoke silver" when neither the name nor the color are correct?
Cary Grant (I believe) bought a Ferrari (275?) for her but he decided that she would like the car with that color. Ferrari had to make up the color for him/her and they kept it for their production line.
The car that inspired the color name is the one-off Pinin Farina show car based on 375 Mille Miglia chassis 0456AM. Italian film director Roberto Rossellini saw the car on display at the Paris Salon in 1954 and bought it. Supposedly, it was purchased as a present for his wife at the time, actress Ingrid Bergman. In reality, though, it's unlikely Bergman ever drove the car. Even so, Rossellini owned and drove 0456AM for several years. The funny thing is that, all this time, the car was painted a light robin's egg blue! I've tried to narrow down exactly when and where the car was first painted its current champagne color, which has become Ferrari's Grigio Ingrid, but to no avail. Current and long-time owner of 0456AM, Wayne Golomb, has, thus far, refused to respond to all of my attempts to speak with him about the car.
Hey Ryan, I am curious to know if the pic you posted is my car. Where did you get that picture from? The pic I posted is my car (I know, it's a bit over-exposed) and I would be shocked if the pic you posted was not my car. Thanks [email protected] Todd
Actually it's the very first picture that Jonesn put on this thread, after I got my hands on it. That you thought it to be your own car I take as the deepest of compliments!
