I thought buying my '86 328 (# 60705) was one of my best days, but then I started driving it, and thought "wow, it gets better!" and then to do Daytona - well, that was awesome!! Everybody I know got married but very few got to have their own F-car.

Congrats on yours.

Good luck with the little lady. I hope the two of you can find a way for her to share in your joy, rather than feel threatened by it.
She wants you to feel happy doesn't she, is the question that lays at the heart of many an F-car triangle. Its not unknown for the powerful feelings involved to reveal interpersonal dynamics otherwise hidden between a couple.
"I'd do anything to make you happy, darling, except prove my love by sacrificing my joy in having my F-car", can be a strange place for a couple to find themselves at. Especially if they'd believed themselves 'happily married' up 'till then.
Not saying its anything like that in your case. Just that it can be sensitive ground.

So, enjoy your car and include the wife as much as she wants to.

is this the car that show the wrong odometer reading 12k or 13k but carfax says 60 or 70k from Middle River...nice car if the price was right

 

Congrats on the red sled John. Now you'll need a pair of Puma/Ferrari shoes to match your jacket, a matching fire extinguisher, the complete library, car cover, baby diapers to wipe her down if any dust dares settles on the paint ... etc...


Remember that the most dangerous thing about driving a classic Ferrari is the danger of rubber-neckers drifting over into your lane as they try to drive an admire your car. Stay way ahead of far back from the cluster of traffic and you won't have white-knuckle cramps from nervously gripping the wheel.

Knowing the traffic patterns and roads in Toronto, this car will really be sweet on the sweeping right-hander coming off the eastbound 401 connecting to 400 northbound. I'd say 3rd gear at about 4 grand should be a nice apex exit speed. Pin it and grin it. The purchase price of the car will be justified with this one simple act of irrational exuberance ... to coin the famous term from former Fedreal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan
