Sunny was kind enough to spend half the day with me doing an expert job in making the darth550 look as shiny as possible! The whole nine yards! Wash Strip Claybar Buff glaze Wax x2 Hide food on the entire interior Results? Well, see for yourself! Thanks again, Sunny! DL
Now you just need to powder coat the horses, black out the windows, get triple black rims and it'll REALLY be the Darth 550...
Hey, Car looks great! Just a little advice though. In the first pic. i notice that there is a lot of fine scratches. Do yourself the favor and go to your local pepboys/automotive shop and buy something called 3M Perfect-It II. Rubbing Compound Fine Cut. it comes in a grey bottle. Just a little bit on a towel or applicator, just rub it in and watch those fine scratches disappear, then wipe the excess away. It doesn't work on deep scratches like getting keyed, but those fine ones. Have fun, she looks great!
I was going to ask if you were going to detail it before Wednesday. Ya know, if we go to dinner in it, I would just hate to be seen in a Ferrari that needs a detail! (hehe). Looks great! ........Downside: We now can't go to the Taco Bell drive-thru and spill grated cheese all over the interior! (rats).
I shoulda known.......................... DL PS. Tom, Sunny brought all the supplies. I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you.
I see in pic #3 that Sunny is holding the most important detailing product. You can never really get a proper shine without going through a few bottles, and although folks will argue about their favorite brand, generally it seems to all work pretty much the same. Seems to work on a lot of other stuff, too!! Cheers Kevin
Thanks, Dave. Man, that looks gorgeous!!! I dig that a lot. Whatever that stuff Sunny uses....I am gonna get me some and spend Father Day trying to replicate that on mine.
Dave, a pleasure as always! Thanks for the pics and the kind words! Unfortunately, due to time I couldn't get the horizontal part of the trunk lid or the door mirrors so you will see some light scratching there still. Wash Claybar Meguiar's #83 using a Porter Cable dual action polisher on number 5, sometimes 6 for deep scratching Meguiar's #9 applied by hand Meguiar's NXT applied by Porter Cable I'm still not "done, done" with a few spots to touch up, but she's looking great! Sunny Edit: My 2000th post, what could have been more appropriate?
looks good, I guess I need to see if I can top it with a black car. Time to start looking..hehe, but it looks great
Wait, is *that* what a black 550 looks like? ****!! Sunny is a nut, no questions about that. Sunny: no imperial hand glaze? Are you trying new products these days? --Dan
