i have been collecting old key fobs for a while. the only true replica key fob that exists is the ferrari idea style. it is simply an enameld logo that has a clip in the back that is released when squeezed. the older key fobs were made by omea or icor of milano. they are very difficult to find and often not in very good condition. i do not know when the factory changed vendors, as my interest has been in older ferraris and dinos. just as a point of reference, a dino key fob will be in the $400-600 range, IF you can find one. i have found and purchased several 60's original fobs over the years but they rarely come up for sale. one sold on ebay about 2 months back and went for very cheap. the best bet is to opt for the ferrari idea key fob and keep your eyes open.

I´ll lend a digital camera in the near future.

Just to be sure: a fob is the Ferrari-thingy that is attached to the key, right?

It's actually the entire key loop/chain/whatever (w/ferrari emblem) you want to call it. it was given by the ferrari dealer when the purchase was made......Does that help?

    Thanks, Chris.

    Yikes, $600!!!!

Well then I'd better put the one that came with my '77 in a safe place and just use a replacement! And it looks brand new to boot! I think it's OEM from the original sale of the car. Their are definitly benifits to being the 2nd owner.

there have been many key fobs over the years. i will try to post some pice in the next several days. i think the nicest is the leather schedoni fob. it was i use on my cars. however, this fob is modeled after the mondial 3.2 fob. i have one and it is the only one i have come across. the mondial is not a rare car, but the key fob that came with ALL mondials seems to be. it looks just like the regular schedoni fob, but has mondial 3.2 embossed in the back.

i bought this fob off of ebay about a year ago. they do come up for sale occasionally. trust me, it is far cheaper and easier to simply get a ferarri idea one as they aren't as difficult to find. once a lorioli fob shows up, buy it.

    Christopher,

The LORIOLI Milano Key fob as w.s. speer posted (2nd from the left) is correct for 1979. Here's another view (mine).

Try Ken at http://www.ferrariliterature.com/ He should have one.

    Bernardo,

The current style key fob looks a bit different and is made by Coinart - Firenze.

Good God, I wouldn't know the difference LOL!!! ...and to think that I had one of those late 70's key fobs. I used it on a daily basis and after considerable wear & tear, the fob is now glued to my tool box. "Posessions are fleeting....."

the far left one is "old" looking and has no writing on it. cool thread!!

Would you happen to know what the key fob looked like for a Daytona?

    Just curious.
