Things have been so busy lately, i haven't had a chance to sit down and write anything, especially since my computer is still up north... Anyway, i can still hear it echo in my head, so i thought i'd post a quick thing about it... During Kenny Herman's NNO Who Run, i had the chance to drive behind the NNO on the way to lunch... Unless you pay careful attention, you can hardly hear the exhaust... Then E.M. would hit the throttle and the resulting sound was just frightening... It's totally unexpected... i was expecting a ferocious growl or some kind of bass-riddled road, but it's more than that... It's very mean and so much more than just an "exhaust"... It almost sounds like something's terribly wrong... It's just a sound i would NOT wanna hear without expecting it... i'm pretty sure i'd soil myself if i was walking down the street and NNO pulled up then just NAILED IT as it passed me... It's really a very ridiculous, unbelievably 'king of the jungle' kinda mean in a very threatening way... Just thought i'd share. Anyone who's heard an NNO at high RPM knows exactly what i'm talking about.
Yeah, man, I had the luck to be behind E.M. for much of the run. You really couldn't hear it at all just cruising, but if he ever tapped the gas... oh man! I mean, I guess you really have to be off the accelerator most of the time, and just a tap every once and a while to maintain the cruise speed. Anyway, I spent probably an hour or more staring at this rear - and it was wonderfull
Zach, great pictures... Every aspect of the NNO, every new experience and interaction i have with one just increases my love for it... It's just such an amazing car...
I believe the low volume at low rpm's is a result of the vaccum system in the exhaust system, so that it dosen't wake the dead at idle
Great shots! Yeah the Enzo is pretty quiet at idle. Quite surprising actualy but your right, when you give it a bit, you and the whole suburb will know about it! One reason why they can't be rego'd in Aus. Noise emissions.
How does the sound at wide open throtle compair to the 360CS? Is the CS a bit louder? Does the Enzo sound more throaty?
I agree with you Carbon. When we saw those two in New Orleans I was pretty shocked when they first cranked up the red one. I was standing three feet behind it expecting to have my ears bleeding. Instead it was a low almost humming noise. I sat there puzzled as the owner pulled away and hit the track. He went around for one warm up lap and BAM! It's definitly a sound you'll never forget.
Oh, you mean ENZO audio. I thought it was going to be a recording of you "That's insensitive. Won't someone please think of the women and children?!" I too was suprised when I hear an Enzo at idle. Actually, disappointed is a better word. My 328 is stronger sounding at idle. Unfortunately, I still haven't had the opportunity to hear one in full battle cry.
LMAO...! Touche, Tillman... Very funny stuff... At idle, the NNO purrs this very distinct arpeggio; almost like a drum roll... i hear a similar sound from Nissan Zs and those new Infiniti SUV things... It's a very distinct sound...
I didnt know E.M enzo will be at the concours.. . I thought you couldnt enter the same car twice ?? BTW, Carbon..Always a pleasure reading your posts ! .
Hey, Andrew, thanks, it was a real pleasure meeting you and your dad; i look forward to it in the future...
