LAST NIGHT: phone rings: me: hello? voice : hi. me : ?? (silence)? yes? voice : hi, i have this little ferrari in my truck, am i am sure you want it, can i deliver it to you tomorrow around 200 or so? me : YES!!!!!!! i have been awake since yesterday, i took the day off from work today, garage is all shiny and clean, Trans ams are outside to give me lots of room, Corvette sold about a week ago.............. the story: on April 28, i get up at 4am for work, make coffee, turn on computer to check mail, ect. i see a thread by fchat member MIKEPROCOPIO, detailing how he settled with his insurance company over some minor damage to his car, and he wants to sell it. car is on Ebay and fchat for sale. i call from my cell at work, talk to Mike, get to the bank as they are turning the keys in the locks to open for the day, 3 minutes later he has a bank wire transfer for the car. yes, no PPI, no pics ( i knew what his car looked like from bieng here ) for what i paid, you would have done the same!!!! Mike slid on the wet roads and hit a curb with the car. minor damange , here are some pics to tide folks over , until the car arrives here today......... edit: i would like to thank MikeProcopio, Speedy308, Manatee, ATLANTAMAN, TIFOSI69, ENJOYTHEMUSIC, Mitchel DeFrancis ( hope i spelled that right!) and all the others for their help. yes its an off color car, with minor damage. Procopio and i suspect only a few were painted this color, and i like it. this will be a long term relationship for me, and i look forward to sharing with the community as i learn more about these cars! 1978 308TS *23785* built feb, 1978 Marrone 106-M-73 Pelle Testa De Moro ( interior) VM 890
. car has Ansa exhaust, head light mod, new fuse block, s/f shields, 2 sets of wheels and tires, all books, tools, records since new. car was purchased at Grand Prix motors in washington by one of the Woolworth store family members. have all the cars and warranty papers as well!!! enjoy!
car pics are from him, he sent me the title, books and records as soon as he got the $$$ , the new euro parts along with another radiator and a/c condenser are all here in the house.
arrrrrggggggggg its almost 1pm...... car will be here soon.......... from some of the nasty emails and Pm's i originally recieved, i know the poor car needs work, but its mine and paid for. i may pull an all nighter on it and get the radiator in it.... a/c stuff can wait since i will most likely go 134a instead of freon. need to re sync the carbs for sea level and diagnose the syncros in the trans. its a beautiful, stunning day to recieve the car though. thanks to all here for the help, kind words and well -wishes! pics to come when she arrives.................................. michael
Are you going to work on the car yourself? I envy the people who can do that, as I have no experience nor knowledge. Congrat on your own Ferrari!
Hi Michael I guess the car will be there in about an hour - I bet you can't wait! Tell us all about it when you see in in the flesh.....and congrats
tick..tock.....tick........tock...... The clock slows way down just before delivery. And never forget: "The most beautiful two words in the English language are "My Ferrari" -- Bob Sinclair
Congrats Reaper. Since you're going to redo the front yourself, I highly suggest you get rid of the big black bumpers and change it to a Euro bumper with the front spoiler. Waaay better looking IMO. Congrats: The first Ferrari is always one that you'll remember. When its finished you'll really enjoy it. Like the color. Art
Is that a 5 digit odometer? What happens when you pass 99,999? Odd. Or is there such thing as a 100,000 mile Ferrari?? hehe.
Not so odd. 6 digit odometers weren't commonly installed on cars until the very late 80s or early 90s.
Really? Every car I've ever owned has had a 6 digit odometer. '78 911, 80 BMW 320i, 85 325e, 86 535i, etc. etc. Maybe the Germans expect the cars to go for more than 100K?
All of a sudden it got real quite here, anybody want to bet that the car was delivered!! Good luck, come back and talk to us.
ok guys car was deliver at 200 or so, had to drive it off the truck to the house since the truck was so large.( remember my radiator is tweaked, hence no water) car ran maybe 1 minute to get in in the garage, i washed it and have started taking off the front end........ will post pics soon!!!! i need to eat, thanks for all the kind words and well wishes, it really means a lot to me guys!!! michael morett.
Congratulations! Don't forget to post some "project update" pics in the showroom (or maybe technical?) section so we can track your progress! I envy the fact that this day is probably at least two years down the road for me...
