ITV secures exclusive F1 online video. http://www.itv-f1.com/news_article.aspx?id=41939 If I read the article right, this means that we'll be able to watch part of, if not all practice/qualifying/races live on the interweb and us 'Murricun F1 fans will now have an alternative to the SPEED broadcasts here in the U.S. It'd be great to see how the folks in the U.K. do live F1 coverage. T-minus 2 days and 13 hrs. to the start of the F1 season! AP
I have a feeling it might be UK only. I tried something similar a while back with a US site and it would not work, but i hope it does for you though. OT slightly but me and all my colleagues are into F1 (except the ladies) and have our own little league on this www.itv.com/fantasyf1 . Looks like fun.
Heres a link: http://www.mybrowse55.info/browse.php?u=aHR0cDovL2l0di05NS52by5sbG53ZC5uZXQvZDEvYnJvYWRiYW5kL2l0dmYxL2RlZmF1bHQuaHRtbA%3D%3D&b=61
well, it will mean you'll get Martin Brundle who is great. But... and it's a big but, alas you'll have to put up with an inept sycophant by the name of James Allen. ian
Once you find a proxy to use you can manually change it in your browser. In Firefox, click Tools -> Options -> Advanced (tab) -> Network (tab) -> Settings -> select manual proxy configuration -> enter in the http proxy and port number. You can find proxies on websites like proxy4free.com. It basically makes websites and servers think you're from that country and changes the IP address they see.
how do you do this if you dont have firefox? I would really like to watch tonight and dont have access to a TV!!
It's the same thing, but the names under the Tool dropdown menu are slightly different. i.e. Network in Firefox may be Network Settings in IE (I don't know, haven't seen IE in a while, but those kind of differences). Plus, you'll need to retry various proxies on that proxy4free website to get a good one. Sometimes they don't work for whatever reason. Other times they are S-L-O-W as crap. I switched my IP to one in Zimbabwe before. As you can imagine, their servers aren't that great so I gave up after 5 minutes.
I just tried switching it and IE wouldnt load ferrarichat or anything..... how do i know if its a good proxy server or not?
You have to keep trying until you find a good one. I know, it sucks, but if you want to see the race...
Okay man, I just tried on my FIRST attempt and got one to work. IP: 195.248.240.210 port: 3128 I went straight to Google (my homepage) and it was Google Polska, LOL! Type that into yours. Should work as I'm typing from it on Fchat right now. A mod can check my IP to match that one and then my old post IPs. Andreas?
ok sweet this one works for me as well.....is this a UK one? because i think you need to be in the UK to watch the race?
The proxy website said it was in Great Britian, but since I went to Google and that thing showed up, I'm guessing it's really Poland. Can you get into that broadcast right now just to check or will you have to wait until around 11 PM Eastern for pre-race footage to check?
Hmm...another UK proxy I found now goes to Google Portugal. This crap is hard to find. Keep trying man...just go to Google and search "free proxies" to look at lists on other websites.
Alright, try this. http://www.freeproxysite.com/go.php?id=4409 In the box on the left, click UK server 2. Then it will take you to a page where you type a URL in the middle. Put in the ITV link and see if it works. I put in Google.com and it took me to Google UK. This didn't require me to change my proxy since I was just using it through another's.
