Ventura Motorsports Gathering Car Show 07-20-08

I am a charter member of of a group that is putting on a car show entitled: Ventura Motorsports Gathering, a Premier Sports & Race Car Show, at Mission Park Sunday July 20, 2008. The show is featuring Jaguars, but I told them that I thought I could round up at least 20-25 Ferraris of different models and hopefully some race cars. I will have more information to come. Anyone interested can email me or respond here. The park is in downtown Ventura across from the historic mission and it is near many fine restaurants and hotels. This group which includes some pretty remarkable car nuts goal is to have a annual "Quail" style car show here in Ventura in the long run, with this being the first event. With the Santa Barbara Concours gone and Ventura being one of the most beautiful coastal town is Southern California, I am hoping that I can help promote my city and love of cars all at one event! The event will be free to spectators with a $50 entrant fee or a secure $25 VIP Corral for those just wanting to attend the show. I hope some of you will attend!

I think they were going to let the cars on the grass 7-9am the show starts at 10:00 am and awards and able to leave by 2pm. I will post more info when I have it and appreciate the responses. Is that you and Rick's Daytona's? A Challenge racercar would be great!

 

I am trying to get them to set up a website. Here is the entry form and info! I promised them at least 10 Ferraris, so I some of you will come through? They are thinking
of making Ferrari the featured marque next year if this year does well. There are all sorts of new and fancy places to eat and unique shops in downtown Ventura. It is
undergoing sort of a renaissance. The show is 2 blocks from the beach and across the street from the historic mission.

I hope we can get some racing Ferrari's also

I should advise everyone that this is the same day as the Art Center Design Show in Pasadena which the FCA is supporting. The corrals are going to be the two parking lots adjacent to the show, unless you had to leave early or come late I would suggest putting any nice cars in the show. There will be a unique diversity of vehicle makes and as many different Ferrari models would be nice. I am just trying to spread the word the main organizers who's numbers are on the pdf Don & Darryl can be contacted for more detailed info. I am part of the group because A. I love Ferrari, B. I am a car guy, and C. I love my little city of Ventura. My hope is that this will be a casual event
that could turn into something very special.

 

The website is not fully up and most of the links dont work, but there is a link at the bottom for a print out pdf. I promised the guys putting on the show that i could get at least 10+ Ferraris. We have 2 gt4s and and 2 boxers already. I suggest if interested print out the pdf and send it in. This is the first event and I think it will be cool so if you can come sign up early as there will be only enough space for about 150 cars max. Here is the pdf.

Most of the links are working on the site now. You can download a form and mail it in. Also they want a photo and a bio of each car! John is already on the site with his beautiful Dino!

Yes I would like a 430 spyder!! ;-) If you sign up early you can get a pic and bio in a program, which I think they are going to sell. This is being put on by a group of local car guys. I am just
helping as i love cars and Ventura! I of course would like to see as many Ferraris as possible and there are a bunch of cool eateries and shopping for the spouses!

Come on guys! I promised them Ferrari's, and you cant let me down. July 1st is the deadline. When you submit an application send a bio and pics of you and a pic of your car for the website and program. Please add to the list, my reputation is on the line!!!1

That would be awesome! I think that this is going to be an eclectic group of cars. I offered to help get Ferraris there as I am a Ferrari guy,
