Here they are from Friday at the Jet Port: We had the best catering service in town, professional models for a fashion show, several beer and wine and distilled spirit sponsors / vendors. Drinks were all on the house. Ferrari of Central Florida brought a customer's private Challenge Car. Several airplanes could be boarded for inspection. We had custom motorcycles, garages, shoes, art (worth millions) and the list goes on. It is likely the event will be limited next year. Many want it bigger but sometimes more is not better, it is just more. We had over 350 people. This is from The Circle on Saturday. I think we had over 70 Ferraris but also a few others. FOC Florida Region knows how to put on a show. And it is for a great cause, the Child Protection Center. These were taken early in the day. It is open to the public so a BUNCH of people showed up very soon: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had a great time, worth the three hour drive. Plus is was an excuse to take out the toy. Sorry to the Carrera 4S owner on I4 that got schooled lol.
Sunday started off from the Sarasota Yacht Club with a road rally. It ended up at the Oaks Country Club for brunch and awards (I did not win anything). I was not on the rally but got pictures afterwards: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice show... Its fun to sit on a bench (while the wife shops) and watch the constant stream of exotics circle around the show. Took my wife's parents to the show... My mother-in-law is into cars, very cool Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here is a GoogleEarth shot of the circle. We got around a hundred cars on the circle. I think that is the limit: Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK, so people want to know where I got my guardrails. I got them here: http://www.stanchiondepot.com/trafficcones.html They are $15 each piece. I got 8. They go from 4 to 7 feet and are light. If somebody knocks them into the car there should be no scrape. They are a firm but soft plastic. They stabilize themselves on the cones. I have never seen a better product. And they were crowd tested and passed with flying colors. By coincidence they were the appropriate color for my specific application: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like a great time. I wish I could've made it down for the event. I will certainly be there next year. Thanks for the pics.
It truly is amazin. Did those guard rails actually stop people from standing on the hood of your car. Remember we have some really challenged people here in Florida.
It worked very well. Last year I had a rope on the cones and people stepped over the low points as if those areas were OK to overstep. Still, you have to stay close. Also, the cones fell when people leaned on the rope. These are interlocked so are stable. They bend a little and that is good. The cones stay upright. Important is that if a little kid runs into things and they do fall over - they are soft enough not to scratch anything. People who do events wanted to know where I got these - so here it is. aehaas
V nice photos, and nice weather!! (How did some of those looooow cars negotiate through the bumps in the dirt, stones, wavy terrain?? )
We have just decided that next years event will be the same size so space will be limited. Set this date aside: Friday through Sunday Feb. 13 - 15, 2009. You can sign up for separate parts of the event. You need not attend all segments. We are planning on distributing the show awards at the Circle on Saturday so you can display your trophy with your car (if you win one). Trophies will likely be based on points and not on competition between cars so everybody has a chance to win the Platinum award. We may even start a best of show award. aehaas
Ali: why don't you guys limit it this year to ONLY Ferrari since it is done by the Ferrari Owners Club of Florida. Instead of having Lambos, R8s, CGTs and some other makes. That should bring it back to the roots. Man, I remember when it was co-sponsored by the Ford dealer....LOL
You would lose the spectaros though and I always thought that was the nice part of the event. Same as Supercar Weekend in Palm Beach. Just so much more fun to have people walking around admiring the cars than just owners strolling around their own toys. My 2c
As far a Ferraris, they will always come first on the circle. After that we accept others. The Friday event at the Airport though is limited to the number of people - around 400 max. That will be all we can do for people but the runway is virtually unlimited for cars, no issues there. The Saturday evening dinner will be limited also. We hit it this year without turning anybody away. And Sunday brunch has limitations. We were OK for a few more there. aehaas

Does anyone know the history of the BBi at the show? It had a very high S/N but a very badly beaten body, with irregular assymetric panel gaps front and rear and cracked/peeling paint along the rear passenger's quarter panel. I saw the car on the Skyway heading home (north). Asking price was $160K in the window. Neat car near the end of BB production, but prob needs several dozen thousand in body/paintwork. Forza, David
