Dear moderator, There have been a number of discussions in FerrariChat on the Stratos, but they're difficult to find, even with the search function. Is it possible to have a separate section on the Stratos? Not in the Ferrari model section, but perhaps as a separate section under "Off Topic"? The link between the Stratos and the Dino probably justifies this (I think the Stratos has a greater affinity with the Dino than with its Lancia siblings, and that may be true too of the Dino and its Ferrari siblings - but I don't want to start a flame war). I note as a matter of interest that the Stratos was in a recent issue of Forza. I've posted separately in the Dino section, as I'm not sure who to address this suggestion too. Warm regards, Andy
I feel your pain on this one, but it's just too small a topic area, and (ouch) it's not a Ferrari, or a Dino, so it would have to go in Other Italian anyway. Have you run a careful search? I wouldn't think there would be a ton of threads that have Stratos in the title. DM
Just ran a search, got 23 threads. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/search.php?searchid=2033055 Can't guarantee the link will work, but an Advanced Search of Thread, titles only, for Stratos may yield the result you're looking for.
Thank you, DM. I apppreciate the reply and the threads. I just wished they would be in one section for an easy read from time to time (like the Lamborghini threads), but I understand participation will be small - there are probably less than 350 Strati around and even fewer owners. There is a Stratos site, but they cover the replicas as well so the discussions are sometimes not relevant. I enjoy FerrariChat immensely, which had some of the most useful discussions on the Stratos. Ciao. Andy
Andy you can easily find Stratos related material on Ferrarichat by using the advanced search and ticking the radio button "Show Results as Posts". Another internet resource where very interesting Stratos material can be found is: http://www.forum-auto.com/sport-auto/theme51/sujet378381.htm A specific thread on Stratos pictures mainly in French (but you don't need to know French to look at pictures right?) I take this opportunity to let others here know that the above forum has 2 other magnificent threads with fantastic historic Ferrari material: - Targa Florio: http://www.forum-auto.com/sport-auto/theme40/sujet378358.htm - Mille Miglia: http://www.forum-auto.com/sport-auto/theme40/sujet378310.htm Ciao.
The "Ferrari Market Letter", published by the old Ferrari dinosaur, Gerald Roush, has a listing for the ASA and Stratos right before their Dino section. To me, it's not important to have a Stratos section in FerrariChat as they are not Ferraris.
I dunno, but I'm pretty sure Gerald wouldn't particularly appreciate your description of him as an "Old dinosaur" Ferrari or not. Unflattering for a guy who is an icon in the biz. DM
Dino boys, try this on your local gravel road. The spectators back then were as wild as the drivers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is unfair to compare the Dino, a little weekend sports car, to the Stratos a pure race car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
To the contrary, he has called himself a "dinosaur". Amongst dinosaurs it's an honor. If you subscribe, see FML vol. 32, #26, of 12.29.07.
You're right. Heaven forbid, all that dust and gravel just wouldn't do when they are trying for those "Platinum" awards at a Ferrari concourse.
There are sections of FerrariChat dedicated to other noteworthy or desirable cars. Having a Ferrari engine, the Stratos' is more deserving than most.
Oh, so true. By the way, I want one of those 365Ps too. The looks of a dino with a 12 cylinder engine, with room for the wife on one side and mistress on the other. To my knowledge, there are 2: Coco Chinetti has one and the Angelli family the other?
Thank you for the search tip, Stratos. I didn't know that. Great links, too. "Strato's" of course, Opus.
The Euro's value indicates America is a very sick place. We may all thank our president and his war for this. But it's nice to see Lancias are doing so well.
The Dino is exquisitely beautiful, while the Stratos looks ferocious in comparison. They complement each other. Image Unavailable, Please Login
