I was wondering who is going? Showing their car? Getting Judged? I went last year- lots of rain, but still fun. Today is the last day to register for the Concours judging- at least that's what the site says. Is it worth it to put a normal 308 QV (well driven) through the judging? I think I might as well, could be fun. Here is the site for registration: http://www.mot.org/Events/ItalianCarDay.pdf Hopefully will see and meet some of you there. John
last year stunk with all the torrential rain. the year before was GREAT though. i'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll get good weather. i'm planning to be there and planning to bring the 550, but i'm not going to be judged. in fact, i'm thinking i might let it get REALLY filthy and then put a sign in the window Dear Wackos: Just drive the damn thing! doody.
I'll be there as well. But without an Italian car to display. I'm thinking of hanging out on Newbury St as well to take pictures of the cars on Saturday night. I love these cars! EDIT>> actually that looks like a big weekend for local (and non-local) events: the MOT, Vintage Celebration at NHIS, the New England 1000 begins Sunday (I think), F1 is at Monaco. And my company is racing at Mt Tremblant, but that's a different forum.
im goin, but only to see the cars. i wish i had one to display. william: any chance the countach will also make an appearance? id love to see one up close, havent gotten a chance to yet.
We'll be there and showing the 328. Anyone else doing the Saturday activities at KTR, FoNE and L restaurant?
I'll wind up my old creaky Tr and see if she'll make it to Brookline Praying for good weather, Kenny K.
I'll be there in the Diablo, not to be judged though. Also will be at FoNE, ride, & dinner the night before. Mark
I am also will be there with my car. In addition, I will be participating at the factivities night before. Hope to see everyone that weekend.
No chance bcus she's for sale & I want to limit the miles on her. How about if we all wear FChat name tags ?
how about YOU wear an fchat name tag and we'll all find you. yeah, that's the ticket! as we get closer, let's set up a meeting place and time like we tried to do last year. doody. PS: too bad our lazy-ass host hasn't gotten his t-shirt/polo-shirt act together or we could have all bought one of those and worn them!
I'll be there - but as with others here it seems foolish to have a 2004 CS judged, its not like 43 yrs of TLC have been lavished on it to keep it in as new condition... so I'm in display only. As Doody says fingers crossed for good weather.
IN an effort to suport doody ,,,,I have been driving the 355 every NIGHT ,WHEN ALLLL THE BUGS ARE OUT ,it hurts a bit to see it all BUGED UP ...but I will proudly park next to my friend, and mentor ,DOODY ,,under his note,,DRIVE THEM ,LOVE THEM. we are on a waiting list for dinner on sat ,,and I hope that we can join all of you ,,,I will be up on sun. with fellow Fchater with his abarth ,,,pray for good weather ,,and a few more hot buggy nites to fill the 355's grill up DAVID
ray - i promise not to mention your name dave - cool beans! nuthin' like big dragonflies and moths stuck to a 355 grill. that's how you know it's a HAPPY CAR! doody.
fwiw, the long-term forecast suggests rain on thursday the 20th, with clouds clearing overnight and then clear-sailing through sunday the 23rd. so let's keep our fingers crossed! i've got some good bug splatters going! i'm thinking of taking her out today if/when it rains so i can get some mud splashes going and general yuckiness. with all this pollen floating about a few hours outside should do the old girl wonders! doody.
Chris, Where is it located? Maybe I can follow you there, I live on Plainfield Pike in Cranston R.I. The only problem is that I dont have a ferrari (yet). Am I allowed to take a corvette? -Vinny
anybody is welcome, vinny. in fact the parking lot and the street fill up with all sorts of non-F cars (and F-cars that don't want to be on the lawn for whatever reason). you don't have to have a ferrari to go. i'd wager than well less than half the attendants own an f-car. it's a public event that generates revenue for the non-profit museum of transportation in brookline massachusetts. hope to see you there! doody
Thought that I'd save Doody from looking this up... The MOT website has directions from Route 95... http://www.mot.org/Info/directions.html#west Best! - Jon
Vinny, You probably want to go up Rt 95. I'm all the way out west on the CT edge of Foster, so I'm going up Rt 395 to the Mass Pike and heading east. If you want to run Mapquest for the Larz Anderson Auto Museum the address is 15 Newton St, Brookline, MA 02445. Kind Regards, Chris
I'll be there..... Car-less of course, but i will be taking some beutiful pictures for you guys. Can't wait.
Just checked the long range forecast, and................. it doesn't look pretty folks. I hope Doody fires up his big huge forecast computer and comes up with something different. Sat. looks tentative, and Sun showers. I am very disappointed. I just can't see standing in a field in the rain at a car show. I have no problem getting the car wet, I am more worried about getting a sniffle! David
