206 Dino Prototype.

    My question is rather complex as I dont have any chassis numbers but I am curious what became of this car. It was the 206 Dino Prototype, the rear buttresses were much differant to the the production Dino, its block if I recall correctly was alloy instead of cast iron as the Dinos was. Reas I ask was this car was brought from the US back to South Africa in around 1989-90 and then taken back to the states in around 1995. Owner at that time was Dave Cohen, at that time the car was silver.

    I vividly remember the car being featured in a magazine article here in SA. If anyone has any pictures of the car as it today I would really like to see them. That magazine article really started off my interest in the whole Dino story.

    Chassis number is 00106 any other history on this car would also be of interest.

    The car was owned for a time by a South African, that may have been the reason for the article.

    At least according to the Dino Register.

    Last known owner Michael Mak, who is a film director, I think.

    As for current photos, I have none. The only ones I have are from it's introduction, via a magazine article or two.

    The last I saw it was three or four years ago, maybe, at Concorso.

    The car in the article is not of course 00106 but is 034/10523 "Dino Competizone"
    It remains in very original condition.
