This may seem to be an anal concours question I know, but does anyone know for sure the "correct" side for the Pininfarina badge on a '76 308GTB? The only thread I could find in the archives was this - http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/121909.html I have a sneaking suspicion it was changed sometime during the model life - I have an Australian delivered RHD car and the evidence seems to indicate that it was originally on the RH side (driver). Photos of early cars I have seen seem always to be on the LH side. Maybe it was different for RHD & LHD cars? Just to confuse the issue, the OZ parts book shows it on the LH side! John "wondering"
This may confuse you more, but I have checked our archives and have found found photos of new cars and it would seem that GTB's have them on the right side and GTS's are on the left! These are UK RHD cars, whether it's different for other markets I don't know. MW
They're on both sides on my '84 GTB QV. So, you mean that the carbed versions have only one Pininfarina badge and you wanna know if it's left or right? Interesting to found out, I never stood still by this matter. Joren REMANS
My '82 Euro 308 GTS QV has a single Pininfarina badge. It's on the driver's side. I'm pretty sure it's original as I had to do some paint work & the primer, etc. appears to have been untouched until I sanded it down.
John, I have the 1976 308 GTB Fiberglass that appeared in the link to the old archive thread you posted. It's a North American version, and yes the Pininfarina badge is mounted on the right side. I have the 1976 308 GTB parts catalogue and in the Australian section, the badge is pictured with the mounting point on the right side (driver's side). Barry
My US 1977 308GTB. Left side only. I noticed this after a body repair at right side. I said "Where's my missing badge, you ^%%%()!" Then found there was only one! "Always make your words soft and sweet, in case you have to eat them later!"
I made a mistake! On my car it's on the driver's side only!!! It sounds crazy but I never stood still by this matter. I am embarashed and amazed together!!! Sorry, Joren REMANS
