This was the scene at Scottsdale Lamborghini this morning. Fifteen new Superleggera's and five LP's delivered for a press event here in Phoenix this week. Had a close look at the cars.....wow! Even got to drive one of the street and into the parking lot.....perhaps a bit quicker than SCPD would have liked...! Impressions: Extremely well thought out car. Beautiful workmanship. The carbon fibre doors and the seats are particularly attractive (look at the suede door pull with a tab of carbon fibre on it!). The large wing is v-e-r-y nice, much better than the smaller wing. Exhaust note is the best this side of a Murci... The thing that impresses the most is how 'perfectly' this car comes together. I particularly liked the 'slate grey' car. Seemed to suit it's nature.... I have included one picture of my Golden Retriever Barclay. He passed away last week.....sure miss him. Enjoy the photos.... (more to follow) ps, notice one of the slate grey SG's is right hand drive...

How is the sound compared to the stock Gallardo exhaust the 06/07 models?

The RHD one is for the British press to drive at PIR all of next week. The sound of the exhaust is much closer to that of a 'race' car. It either has less baffles, or the butterfly valves open much sooner than the stock car. Great sound....make the 430 sound like a hypeactive childrens toy.... The guy in the slate grey Super Leggera is Dino, president of Veloce Performance Tuning. He is also the owner of the 348 featured in the latest issue of Forza. The SLG with the large wing is one great looking car. It certainly has more of a 'wow' factor than a 430. I forgot to mention the engine deck lid. It looks great in carbon fibre. The window over the engine is a very tough polycarbonate. The rear window, and the back side windows are also made out of the same material. Even the windshield is slightly thinner than stock to save some weight. The other notable feature of the car are the new wheels. In the flesh they look fantastic...much better than the photos suggest. The Lambo rep that was with the cars told me that the enthusiast community will be very excited to see the range of forthcoming products from Lambo. They are planning on releasing a new version of the G every year! One more pic of Barclay for any Golden Retriever fans out there....! Hope you enjoy the photos. as you can see, another crummy day in Scottsdale.....how ARE things down east today...?! :)

I'm also very sorry to hear about Barclay :( It is very hard losing someone you love even if it is a pet. He looked like a great dog. RIP Barclay.

Please tell me when you say PIR, you are indeed referring to Portland International Raceway?

The rear wing can be ordered two ways: Large wing, or smaller wing in a raised but fixed position.

I was surprised by the lack of manuals. The Lambo tech (Massimo...striaght from Sant Agata) told me that the car was designed to be best utilized with the Egear... The quick drive I did with the car indicated that it is even quicker shifting than normal version. You guys will LOVE this car. I have always been a Murci person.....but this car is one that I think I HAVE TO GET. still...would trade all my cars to have Barclay back again.... :-(

small point regarding asthetics. Many of the Super's show the car with the nose in the raised position as they just came off the transporters. A couple of them (the slate grey ones near the end of the photos) show the nose in the lowered position.

The yellow Diablo (91) belongs to a friend of mine, Jason. Great car, with the most wicked sounding exhaust you have EVER heard....! Really like the early Diablos....something about that design. One car that should be in every collection.

If you look carefully at the SuperLeggera script on the side of the car, it seems to be styled to look the same as that on the Miura, with the little 'devils tail' features on the S and the a. Notice also the side marker lights are white....only for Euro spec cars. They also all had 5 point harnesses, a feature we can't get in the US (.....let me see, the Govt is suggesting that 3 point belts are SAFER than 5 point harnesses....?!). I get it....we're from the Govt, we're here to help.....

ps. you can order the white lenses from Europe.....and retrofit them to your Gallardos. Much better looking than the orange ones on US cars.

I have to venture a guess, that all those cars are not U.S. spec vehicles. None of them have the red rear side marker lamps. I.E.=they will be faster, because they are lighter than our federal version. ;)
