Awesome cars. I can't believe that one went for 64k. I figured they'd hold their value a little better than that.
It hasn't gone for 64K yet...still has 6 days plus on the auction. Not that I keep my eyes on manual trans 456s or anything
It is pretty amazing what you can buy on the used market compared to buying a new 645 BMW, for example. Even if it costs a few thousand per year to maintain, the almost non-existent depreciation, on a car like the gorgeous 456 on Ebay, would still mean that it could be driven and the owner would not loose too many $$$, especially compared to a new a car in the same price range. What is the prediction for the bottom with the 456 in a few years? 400i seem to have a bottom around $25k, it seems like the 456 would be at least double that. A $50k bottom eventually for the 456?
I would do a thorough PPI on the 64K 456. This seems to be a below-market price and it might be a "story" car. The photos look good though. 15K service is not enough. At 9 years it needs belt replacement (part of the 30K service). There are also some very expensive updates (not recalls) that need to be done: #70 and # 82 (on my car that was almost 15K).
Rijk: Here is mine, sn 113417 being delivered by HC. It came from WWOC. When I visited to inspect it I saw your Daytona before you bought it. I think you will like the 456 but it is easy to go very fast in quite comfort, I found myself going well over 100, listeneing to the CD, in the rain, very peacefull..... Hi Here is a link to a pic of my fathers Ferrari 456 with my Lotus Elise. http://photos.fotango.com/p/eba00473906f00000003.jpg I took the 456 to an event near Birmingham called VMAX on Sunday. Basically about 30 guys hired part of an airfield which has a 2 mile straight. I hit 160 in the 456 on 2 occasions. It is an auto and I used the individual gears to get as much accelaration on the straight as possible. I had to put the auto selector into 'D' at about 150 mph. The revvs dropped momentarily but then the accelaration picked up again. Unfortunately at 160 we were passed the timing beacons and it was time to hit the brakes. I was really impressed with the car. It felt rock solid and totaly unstressed at 160 and would have gone a lot quicker if there was more room. We must have done over 12 runs and the brakes felt fine all day. No fade at all. It really is a fantastic car.
This one is for UK chaps really, let me have your email and 456 model type and I can email you an Excel file showing our current stock holding for this car. Around 2000 + lines. Cheers.
Your Elise is beautiful!!!!! Elise's are one of my favorite cars, in fact I'd rather have one than a 456. I mean no offence to owners of them, and obviously I find exceptions in things like handicaps, but personally, I find an auto on a Ferrari sacrilge. just imho
Manny I have both a 456 (6-speed) and an Elise, they are totally different cars, for different use, but both for enthousiasts. I love the Elise a lot, but there is nothing like having a Ferrari.
Hi Jeff, Can you email me that list alsoo, Thanks in advance, Kinnie [email protected] www.ferrariparts.tk
