Good question. There is parking across from the Bob Bullock Museum on the congress and MLK, but I'm going to guess that that lot will be taken up by the event staff. I'd suggest just try and find a place to park a few streets over If you can't, there's a few pay lots and parking garage across from the Dobie Center (tall glass/black building) that is 2 or 3 blocks from the event. These recommendations assume that they're going to start at the north, and go towards the capital
Amanda goes up to Austin this evening, I guess I could slide up to the Broken Spoke for Thursday night and hang around 'till Saturday.
No man, this is mostly state employee parking lots, north of the capitol. I think there's an underground building there too. The last "shooter" at UT walked down 19th spraying lead toward the Law Library. Jester Dorm doesn't have balconies (for OBVIOUS reasons!) and Dobie, a private dorm tower, doesn't either IIRC. (maybe small ones?) The new high rise condos are SOUTH of the Capitol.

Myself and a few friends will be there catching the show. We all live in South Austin. I'd say there would be parking downtown, but given the coverage and people coming to see the show, it'll be hard to find.
I am going to book a hotel room downtown for Friday night and hook up with a friend who lives in Austin for a 6th street excursion Friday night. Lets paint downtown rossa scuderia. Who's with me?
ATT conference center is pretty close (couple of blocks), new hotel with nice rooms and great weekend rates, especially if for UT faculty.

Well my trip is cancelled & I was really looking forward to this. I can't justify driving all the way down there just to look at a parked F1 car.
