So who will be attending the Texas Mile this time around? This will be my first one and I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm temporarily going over to the dark side to document the adventures of a couple of Lamborghinis.

I'll be competing at the Mile this year in my 05 Gallardo twin turbo built by underground racing.

Oopps, you are right. That was the video of my 560 TT. I wont be taking my 560 to the Mile. I'll have my LP670-4SV at the mile, but the only car I'll be running is my 05 Gallardo twin turbo. It has the 6 point roll cage, fire suppression, etc.

This is the first time that exotics will be truly represented at the mile. I hope everyone gets some good runs in. What are the people with TT Lambos expecting to run? I know the Supra community will be the one to beat as they have 3 cars capable of setting a new record. If anyone is thinking of going for the top run of the event, I wish them luck and be safe out there guys/gals.

P.S. Take some pictures and videos to share with the rest of the community when you're finish.

I think SW will be going back for a new record in his Supra. He'll be bringing a new toy also.

Which one, the TT Lambo by UGR or the TT Ford GT by ART? I really feel that the top three cars to beat are: 1. SW's hardtop Supra 2. Amit's Twin 67 Supra 3. Tommy Banh's Gt55-91 Supra. Each of these car's have proven they can perform at the mile (they took the top three spots last year for cars). SW's supra is now purposely built for the mile as it will have a gutted interior, CF rear hatch, custom diffuser and a new fully built stroker engine (approx 1300 rwhp and ~3000 lbs). Amit's supra is another animal altogether with full interior, full sound system and close to 4000 lbs. It also has a widebody kit that will hurt it in terms of aerodynamic. Twin billet 67 turbos with ABM stroker engine (approx 1720+ rwhp). Tommy's supra is almost stock except for safety items like roll cage and harness. Full weight last time I checked with a 3.4l stroker engine with GT55-91 turbo producing ~1500+ rwhp on boost. All three cars will run the stock Getrag transmission except for upgraded carbon clutch. I think SW's supra will be the car to beat, but if any Lambo can get close to these 3 cars, that is an achievement in itself. At the end of the day, have a great time at the mile this year and be safe out there. Good luck to Jonah and the UGR crew and take tons if pics and video for us TexasMike.

I'm thinking about driving from Austin to the motor mile on Saturday for part of the day. Can't do the whole day. Anybody want to hitch a ride in the Gallardo?

Aw man, I'd be interested. If only I was leaving from Austin. :(

I plan on heading down to the mile Saturday as well. What color is your Gallardo?

Here are what the Ford GT's did on thursday on a very hot day there.

    Soroush 217 mph
    (jbsteven 216 mph(?)
    DBK 207 mph
[email protected] 206 mph (on a very easy shakedown run with a soft launch)
    tmcphail 206 mph

    and today

Jason Stevens just ran 219.9 mph in his GT TT / SC

SW just ran a 243 in his Supra with smoke coming out the rear at the mile mark

That is NO JOKE. That motor is pushed to the edge of adhesion- if anybody can make a Supra go fast it's that guy. Is this the 1700+ HP car I've been hearing about?

1700 hp... maybe at the crank, SW went faster last year with ~1300 RWHP only. The 2JZ GTE is truly an incredible engine. It's built like a tank and can take almost anything you throw at it. The Supra platform is once again the benchmark to beat at the mile (bullet proof engine + trans, good coefficient and gearing) as shown by SW leading the way so far. The Viper guys have plenty of power, but lack a strong enough transmission and decent gearing. The Ford GT lacks gearing as well as the corvette. People tend to forget that hitting 250 mph in a standing mile takes a lot to achieve, like: huge power, strong transmission, good gearing + drag coefficient, perfect conditions (e.g. tail wind, no cross wind, etc...), tall enough tires, and someone with the ca hones to stay on it for 25+ seconds. SW and his supra is the only tandem that I can see right now that has a real chance. The TT Lambo guys will be there one day (a lot sooner than many may think), but for their first showing so far, I must say that it has been a big success.

Good luck to everyone on Saturday as I know their are many cars that have yet to make a pass or have not yet gone full kill. Be Safe out there.

Cars to watch out for tomorrow

    1. VRAlexander Supra + 911 turbo (both cars making huge power!)
    2. SW Supra (Full Kill mode, first run was a shake down)
    3. Jonah's TT Gallardo (John Reed is turning up to boost to 25+ PSI, best run of 232 mph)
    4. Evomotorsports Gumpert Apollo (lets hope they get a run in)
    5. Local Ford GT + Whipple + NOS (217 mph first run)
    6. UGR orange TT Gallardo (217 mph first run)
    7. RB Chroming & Company (bringing down 2 big HP supras, TT Ford GT, TT Vipers)

VRAlexander has arrived and is doing some shakedown runs. His Supra is the only remaining high dollar one left that has a chance at 250 +mph. Most people seem to be hesitant to head out for some odd reason (could be due to the handful of broken engines already). Amit's Big Red supra had its head lifted so it is out for the event. SW's supra is also out due to cam issues. I think a Ford GT had one of its turbo go out and two Lambos are having heating issues and can't make a full pass. I've been told by a friend that John Reed feels that a TT Lambo has a good shot at 240 as there is still some more room to turn up the boost. So much for the bulletproof remarks about the 2JZ, but at the power and what these guys are revving it to, not too many engines can say they have done the same. I'll continue to update this thread as I get more info. Once again, good luck to all competitors and stay safe.

Some great runs today, and not too many blown motors as yesterday.

    1. Ricky's Viper went 228
    2. Orange UGR TT Gallardo went 238
    3. A built VW went 204 (Absolutely amazing!)
    4. VRAlexander' Supra went 224, his Porsche went 213
    5. GTR with HKS 570 kit did 180
    6. Hennessey CTSV did 185
    7. A couple 996TT's were in the 196-200 range
    8. A bike went 253, holy smokes!

Not sure if the Gumpert Ran but there are plenty of nice cars out there today!

Good luck to all the competitors tomorrow and stay safe.
