Yin...... I'd be interested in your comments about both cars after a couple of weeks driving.......congrats !!
beautiful. congrats. The rs looks amazingly low... I'd be interested to know if you have clearance issues. How about some interior pics???
Fine looking pair you have, enjoy them. How about a side by side pic of the RS and CS to compair and contrast the width and clearance of the two
Thanks guys! Yes, it is even lower than the CS! That front spoiler scrapes unless I exit my driveway at a very specific angle at a very specific spot. However, it is considered a wear item by Porsche and is replaceable. Interior pic attached (lousy grab shot - I just notice I missed the little yellow stripe at the top of the steering wheel ). I don't want to say too much comparison-wise yet versus the CS since the RS is still getting the break-in treatment. I've put just 50 miles on so far, with 20 being suburban streets. However, just initial impressions of the RS are extremely positive. The car seems to turn instantaneously, handling is very predictable, chassis seems perfectly rigid/stiff - yet the ride is something that I could live with on a daily basis. Exhaust sound is a huge improvement over most stock Porsche exhausts (but not as good as Ferrari), the clutch feel is a big improvement over the 996's (this is my first 997) which I found too light and vague in engagement, the shifter is excellent - short and precise. I'm not feeling much of the torque yet, keeping it below 4000-4500 RPM, but you can feel that there's more waiting in the higher RPM range. The lightweight flywheel adds its own sonic signature (sort of a rattly lop at idle) and is kind of cool . I got the CCB's and Bi-xenons, which I think are must have options, and they seem to deliver. Summary - it is easily the best 911 class Porsche I've had a chance to own/drive.
Beautiful car! Enjoy it in good health! I have a picture of the same exact color combo GT3RS for a background on my computer... it keeps me motivated
Wow!! Very very nice mate!! Looks gorgeous in orange/black. Congrats and enjoy in good health. I am looking forward to seeing more pics Yin and your driving impressions of the car when you really start to feed her the fat! A CS and GT3RS!! Awesome combo! Best wishes mate.
360 CS is one of my favorite newer cars, but that Porsche is AWSOME. I didn't know you could get the RS version in the states.
Fantastic duo - looking forward to the comparison! Drive fast & in good health! P.S. why not posting this in 360/430 forum also!
I love the 997 body still compare to 996 especially the 997GT3 RS ... You have amazing pair of special cars there. Congrats!
