Just saw the article on the Ferrari Market Letter's Facebook page - which leads to GT Spirit. Anamera is hosting the listing. Does anyone know the serial number of this car?

Great news... for all of us that have older classic collector cars... lets hope he gets someone to step up buy it at that lofty level... there are a lot of inflationary pressures world wide, requiring a larger amount of currency for value...

Being an avid viewer of Anamera.cc I have noticed Ed Classic's ad's before.

I could be wrong but they LOOK very fake. Like they have been lifted from ad's elsewhere.

Would be cool if they were real, but probably not.

I don't see any real inflationary pressures despite the worlds central banks trying to create them.

The picture shows an image taken by Michael Furman of Ralph Lauren´s GTO...I doubt that one of these two knows that this image is used here, maybe someone should tell them just for fun ;-)

    It's a US car apparently.

But the question remains: surely no one needs an unknown British broker in the north east of England to sell their 250 GTO! I'm sure if you went to Talacrest, JC could find a buyer in less than 2 mins.

I imagine there is no shortage of people queuing up for a 250 GTO, no need for it to be on the open Market.

Absolute nonsense. None of the outlets reporting the "advert" have called up, they've just assumed it's legit and written about the most expensive car in the world being up for sale.

Seems very far fetched that he has these cars.

I would like to know someone who can verify this.

The advert is making internet headlines now. See here: http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/1962-ferrari-250-gto-sale-41-million-makes-163654811.html

I emailed Adrian Hamilton, MD of Duncan Hamilton, to alert them of Ed Classics advertising their 365 Boxer Spider, and the car is still with Duncan Hamilton. See here: http://www.duncanhamilton.com/ferrari-365-bb-spyder-chassis-number-18145/ He has never heard of Ed Classics. No surprise there and he will be dealing with the false Ed Classics advert immediately.

Thats the way most 'news' sites now work : aggregating

The saddest thing is that the breadth of publicity will give the guy some credibility

I very much doubt that fraud or dishonesty is the intention as the cars involved are far too high profile........ I rather fear it is someone having a seasonal joke at the expense of the likes of us who love to seriously debate such matters......... Credibility is not an issue.

Have never seen them before but OK remove my word ...seasonal........ I would still bet its malicious intent rather than a hoped for lucky fraud.....

Very sad you no longer believe in Father Christmas.......

Michael Furman just got back to me, here is his updated responce. "Thank you gents for pointing out that this is, in fact, my photograph. It was done for Ralph Lauren a number of years ago, and I feel that I would do a better job today. I contacted the broker and told them that if they were not selling this particular car that they should remove the image from their site. He said they were selling a different car and that he would take down my picture."

I remember one of his ad for a 250 SWB had a model car pictured. How serious are you when you cant even produce a picture of the actual car or if your client wants to remain anonymous, then at least use a file photo or no photo at all.

Have an acquaintance who is a "broker" and likes to send me cars he "has" for sale. Usually they are cars on offer from major players. Service for the lazy buyer?

Photo still up, but the ad copy seems to have changed. No longer a specific GTO offered.
