Strictly speaking, this car started life and was delivered as a LHD car delivered to Italy, and was one of 2 SVs subsequently (in the period) converted by the works to RHD for sale in Australia.

I think there are more like 10 RHD SVs.

Miura SV on the wet roads of Portland

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was driving in downtown Portland yesterday and happend to see a Lamborghini Miura SV. At a stoplight and the driver said it only has 5000 original kilometers. This was the first time I have ever seen a Miura in person, and the sight and sound was spectacular! The pictures I took do not do the form justice, probably because I was shaking with excitement.
The car looks like it sold at an auction in France last year for about $900,000.

    Link to Auction,
    Sport & GTs au Mans Classic - Vente N° 1855 - Lot N° 110 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan

Almost correct Joe. They ( there were two) were purchased in Italy but then returned by the dealer to the factory to be converted to RHD before being brought in

Pics of original factory built RHD car note the wiper motor and the fuel pump are on the the wrong sides this probably indicates that the car was not converted at the factory

I think the fuel tank nozzle, horns, washer bottle, brake fluid reservoirs, wiper motor, and fuel pumps are the OPPOSITE of location for LHD cars, so this suggests to me that this white car you have pictured in fact has ALL the components moved over to correct-for-RHD, something only the factory itself bothered to do.

I was hoping no one saw that, I took a closer look. Your right it is not a mirror image. Amazing how many things were moved.

Because of the steering column the fuel tank definitely must be changed.

How well is the Aircon working in this car, with the condensor up front? (Assume "better", perhaps even "great") I attempted to add a stealth A/C on my S until I got the price for the bell housing.

Is that 5002 then? Different spinners and wing mirrors from the other Oz car currently for sale in the UK (5036, from post 8357)

Joe - can I take this opportunity to thank you for The Miura Bible. It easily surpasses Coltrin and Marchets Miura tome, which was a great book but was a bit let down by the visuals. The Miura Bible addresses that with images that finally do justice to the car, a really beautiful book. I would love to see you do a Countach Bible one day.

I wonder if you could answer a couple of queries about this car, Jay Kay's SV. Have the black headlamp surrounds been removed from this car or did SV's ever come out the factory like this? I haven't seen another like it. Incedently I think the Miura looks so much more elegant without wing mirrors like this one- I've seen a lot of Miuras spoilt with ugly plastic wing mirrors (such as in post 8373). Ther seem to be a few variations on the wing mirrors, both in placement and design - any particular reason for this?

I can answer the part about the wing mirrors. The external mirrors were never mounted at the factory (unless specially ordered), and were dealer items. So the type and placement was up to whatever dealer installed them which means there are innumerable variations. And there were those that left the dealers without wing mirrors, only to have subsequent owners that felt they needed them put them on, further increasing the variations of mirrors and placement. They were usually Sebring or Vitaloni mirrors, as those were the coolest wing mirrors back then.
