Saw a yellow Murcielago(at eurobay) and it had the bits of the kit black in the same locations as the SV. It also had a wing on it. I'm guessing this is the car I saw a few months back when I was on the train. Riced Lambo
Heres a few pics i found in the trunk. These were taken by me @ a showroom in Nth Melbourne circa 1986 when the car was brand new! Boys, there is a story behind this particular Countach..... She was/is an LP 5000qv. The car was painted in "Fosters Blue", a "one off " colour new by the Factory. She was the prize in a competition run by the Fosters beer group as part of their inaugural sponsorship of the Australian F1 GP.... The bloke who won chose a "cash option" that was part of the prize package and took the $$$$ rather than the car. She then ended up in the showroom run by Bob Jane (Yes the Tmart Bob Jane) surrounded by Aston Martins...(Bob was dabbling in selling AM's at the time)....never heard or saw her again..... Can remember at the time I drank lots and lots of Fosters(too enter the competition of course-LOL) and cried I didn't win her...... In the flesh the colour was stunning and absolutely jaw dropping....whoever has her now has a very unique Countach if she has been left unmolested!!! Pete
Yep Near the big roundabout near the Bob Jane Tmart there! BlackJag I'll send you the airshow pics soon as I've got them loaded onto my PC! Cheers Pete
Strange I don't recall that comp. I recall the Ferrari Daily Mirror one. Maybe because I was too young to drink The bloke who won was a wanker to enter if he wasn't interested in winning the car! I hope that car is still around and in Fosters Blue!
Does anyone remember this? When Beverley Hills Cop with Eddy Murphy was released one of the TV stations(Think it was 9 cause I can remember Richard Wilkins being involved) in conjunction with a major cinema chain was giving away a red 328 as a prize??? I remember the winner lived in Beverley hills N.S.W(?)from memory.... Another competition I didn't win damn it-LOL...... Cheers Pete
Me too Speedcore.....me too! Fosters Blue was/is a much darker shade than the car in the posted Youtube video....I remember the shade of Blue was identical to that on Fosters tinnies at the time....to enter the competition you had to buy a Slab....I brought lots and me and the mates did lots of drinking at the time..... She was beautiful mate, believe me....I remember having my face pressed up against the showroom window glass and being dragged away by my girlfriend at the time...."ITS JUST A CAR"....LOL Would love to see her again.....probably look better than the girlfriend at the time too ...LOL
Yeap, that's the Daily Mirror(b4 it merged with the telegraph) one. You had to get the number plate of the car to enter. The entry form was in the paper. I entered but didn't win
