What do you think is a realistic offer on this F430?

I'm currently in the process of acquiring an F430. This would be our first F-Car. However, we already have owned and dealt with Porsches, Maseratis, and Bentleys - I guess you can say it's time to bump it up a notch.

Anyways, this is the F430 I have my eye on right now:
http://www.lrjah.com/inventory/detai...ntoryid=203543

The owner of the dealer said I can make an offer that I think is more appropriate because honestly I think this specific car is a tad bit overpriced. Then again, I know it all comes down to what options it has, condition, etc.

Down the street from this dealer, DC Motors has an 06 F430 spyder with 2300 miles going for about $180k.

Do you think it is fair to offer $175k for the Gray Ingrid? I can obtain the options list if necessary. Thanks for the help.

thoughts...

As one data point....several months ago I had a PPI on an 07 with 2100 mile, came up in pristine condition. Price was $154k, well optioned. Several other Fcar dealers were in a similar range.

Nice car, but IMO priced too high.
160 would be fair, again IMO.
WITH an extended warrantee when the factory warrantee runs out in 6 months.

Thanks for the input guys.

Seems like I will have to check if this car is still on warranty or not and if there was ever a PPI done on the car. $190k did seem high to me... for this car at least.

Smile What do you think is a realistic offer on this F430?

Go with the 06 F1 Spider! I bought my 07 this year and is by far the greatest Ferrari I have owned....

Good luck

PS. I paid $200k

The coupe is way too high. It does not look like it is heavily optioned and the color does not look like any Grigio Ingrid I've seen not that it really matters.

Indeed the price is high. I will try to offer $160-$170k once I get more info on the car.

Yeah that's too high. It's actually interesting how close the 430 and 360 prices are getting when the 430 has a few more miles.

'05 430 20k $120k: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferra...RCHQ3aUSQ3a101

'04 360 5k $115k: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferra...RCHQ3aUSQ3a101

Not too mention that a 430 that is newer and with fewer miles costs less than a 360CS. Nothing wrong with that of course. Supply and demand. Just interesting to picture the graphs of price vs time on these cars closing the gap or in some cases crossing.

You are comparing a spider with 5K miles vs a coupe with 22K. The original MSRP was probably very close on these two cars. The spider might even have been higher than the 430. BTW, CS's have come down quite a bit lately and you would be hard pressed buying a comparable 430 for less.

Can I get more peoples' opinions on what I should offer? Drove the car today and am returning to the dealer on Saturday to maybe get this done. I also needs reasons on why this offer. Thanks.

Your best bet is to search the net for comparable cars. If prices are lower, make a list and bring it with you.

Nico - this is Albert f/the BMW days...wassup man.

My thoughts on the car:
- Weird that it has the challenge grill yet doesn't have the small interior carbon package.
- Daytona's and Shields, good options, yellow calipers go surprisingly well.

Unless you're completely in love with this car, I would ask for the world. It's a buyers market and it's always easier to bring your price up then to bring it down, so start low and move to the point where you "expect" to pay.

Personally, I wouldn't pay $175K for the car- ask for $155K plus powercube warranty.

Wasn't this the car (430 Coupe) at Newport Porsche about a month ago or so?

whats up albert, glad you're still around. yeah i agree with starting low. the car is very lightly optioned and i did find it having the challenge grill pretty interesting.

I find it interesting that you are torn between a coupe and a spider. It seems there would be one that you would much prefer over another - the spider with its top down experience to me is hard to beat.

+1 spider. Also, a spider will retain its value better dollar for dollar than a coupe.

Well we honestly prefer the spider but the car will probably rarely see the top down so it might be kind of a waste. We'll see though. We just got back from the dealer and made an offer of $160k (for the Ingrid Gray). The sales manager is going to let the owner [of the dealer] know sometime this week and will get back to us. He said that he probably won't take that but trying won't hurt. We definitely won't go above $175k if that. The car is just not worth it.

I really hope the owner doesn't think somebody will buy that car for $190k - especially when DC Motors is right down the street selling F430s at more reasonable prices. If the deal falls through, we'll most likely head to DC Motors and show our interest in the spider; and we'll see where things go from there. Red is a bit too much for us, even though we know that color is a must have on a Ferrari. But if the deal is there, it might happen.

According to the sales manager, business has been going slow for the owner and "taking 30k off would be a big hit".

i think both cars should be around the 160-165k mark. the 06 spider has 2000 miles. the coupe is an 07. i bought an 06 spider with 1000 miles for 165k in august. the spider will hold value longer than the coupe. they are crazy if they dont take your offer of 175. they want get another offer near that
