I've been guilty of referring many people to DD, nobody has ever accused them of being inexpensive, and nobody I've sent there has ever complained about the work, or the prices relative to the quality of the finished product. Whether it's been detailing, invisible bra, or tinting, their work is top quality. You want to do the "tint it yourself", you get what you pay for.

Obviously you are not gentleman enough to represent yourself as who you are, but would rather sling your hidden agenda around. You are a prime example of what is wrong with the automotive forums today. Instead of helping foster a community of car enthusiasts who share knowledge and help each other, troglodytes like you (who many times post anonymously) have a selfish agenda and believe the only way ahead is not by working harder but by putting others down. This creates a negative atmosphere for not only those involved but everyone else on the forums. The problem is, after getting banned, they just re-register under another name or go to another forum and continue the drama. In the end, it is the forum and the contributing members that suffer b/c many of the quality people leave b/c they get tired of the BS.

Possibly if you stopped slinging crap based on NO EXPERIENCE with a specific vendor - your opinion *may* be worthy of the page its written on. It's far easier to praise the vendors you prefer without bashing those that you have no experience with. Based on your attack-and-run agenda, followed by name calling - your opinion makes you look foolish.

If you put this on 100% of your car do you still have to detail it?

whats your POINT???? you want my name, number, address and then what???? ive been a member of this forum since 2006 under the same name and never banned....unless you know something that i dont. the problem here, matty, is that you are a legend in your own mind....just admit and accept that there are many other companies out there that do what you do, some better some worse. i have my opinion, you have yours, others have theirs. what are you missing here? YOU are the one that started this crap and came at me with defensive and accusatory remarks.

fwiw i have never used DD just cuz they are on LI and i live in westchester but i have never heard a single bad thing about them and i circle in quite a few relevant groups of car enthusiasts. I go way back with John D ( idont know who joe d is) who i havent seen in years and i was going to lorenzo when i was 18 years old. I literally have tint jobs that are running on 15 years and they look amazing. Here is a brutal fact, and i was born in the bronx and raised in yonkers, you wldnt catch me driving a 150k+ car to his shop and leaving it there. It has nothing to do with lorenzo, it has to do with the area.

Anyway, i dont know DD but if sezme brings his cars there i wouldnt hesitate to bring mine. In term of price, 450 or 500 who cares at that point...50 bucks is not relevant if u feel confortable with the shop.

for me, ive gotten to the point where i have 2 great detailers who i trust with my kids, literally, and they come to my house or the garage. With respect to tints, if i cld find someone to come on site, id have more of my cars done.

Im kind of amazed at the direction this thread went in. Afterall we are talking about tints, not taxes!

My Garage
clear bra

Putting a clear bra on a car is not rocket science. I own a race team in the Grand Am Rolex series and installers from a company that is an associate sponsor come to every car in the garage and install a complete front end clear bra in 30 minutes. I have had this done at every race both last and this year.

I have done business w/ Joe D. in the past & have never had a problem. He is mobile & has a list of high end dealers that he services in the Tri State area. On the other hand Matt & Eddie are talented individuals w/ a facility that is top notch. I am proud to say DD & MAC have an ongoing business relationship & they are the perfect co-host for The Gold Coast Extravaganza. They are knowledgeable in their profession & well respected in the exotic community.

Now thats funny. I wouldn't say its like splitting an atom, but it's far from easy.

Been to a lot of detailers but DD by far is the best in the tri-state area. I rather pay the extra coin to get the best when it comes to my cars than save a few nickels.

Im sure all mentioned are reputable shops with good installers. IMO no matter where you go you roll the dice ...... some places and people just have better odds then others. Most people want to get the job done right and done once. Usually quality results come from places that have a controlled enviorment and the location is designed specifically for the job at hand. I have not been to the other places mentioned but DD has one impressive facility and they treat each car there like its there own.

I don't know Joe or Lorenzo at all, but I can tell you that I've used DD for all kinds of stuff on at least 4 of my cars and I've seen the work they've done on at least 30-40 other exotics and they do stellar work.

I initially thought they were expensive too, until I saw the amount of time they spend on each car and the attention to detail they put into even the smallest of tasks. I definitely think you can find cheaper places, but I can assure you after having seen the work of many other shops and individuals, that you will never find a place that does better work. And if you don't trust me, you can ask the guys who have them work on their 5 million dollar cars or the ones who ship their cars halfway across the country to have DD do the work.

I must say that I was floored by their attention to detail when, on one occasion, I saw Eddie put 3M on the bumper of a car with complex curves and work it into all the nooks without any ripples or bubbles, and then rip it off and start over because he noticed there was an almost invisible fleck of dust under the wrap - I think he spent over 6 hours on that wrap, and I'm sure he wasn't paid extra for having wrapped it twice.

DD can have the couple bucks extra they may cost over a competitor, because I know they'll do an amazing job and stand behind their work.

IMHO, Eddie and Matt are really class acts and I'll keep using them and sending them customers for as long as they are open

clear bra

Time to close this thread I think as it is taking a nasty turn. I was only looking for an installer on the east end of Long Island and it has come to this alas.
