Are there any more converts? What happened to Murcielago Boy? Hes gone v.quiet. Perhaps he is creaming himself over the new 997 Turbo pics.
I never put anyone on "ignore" list,no matter how annoying the posts may be. Different opinions are the essence of the proper Forum. I also don't believe in "banning",unless that person uses abusive language or direct threats.
Hey guys, Not sure if it has been said yet, but seeing some of these newer pics that capture the dimensions of the car better I see a lot of classic ferrari lines in the 599. Particulary the rear end with only 2 tail lights reminds me of the 275. I think that they did a very nice job with this car, and that video of the exhaust sounds awsome. cant wait to see it in person. Bill
I will go to geneva show the 28th and will be back home the 1st of march, I will try to post some pics. When I get them I will ask any of u how to post them. cu
After some time, I start to really like the car from the outside. However, I really can't stand those round/protuding vents for the A/C (as well as the A/C controls which looks cheap on the pictures). I already had some reserves with the interior of the 430 (for the same reason)... unfortunately, they continued on the same path ! What's the opinion of others ?
Here is a photoshop of the 599GTB with Novitech wheels. Its not the best, but give us an idea of what it would like with aftermarket wheels. Let me know what you think. Image Unavailable, Please Login

No E-diff? Why no E-diff? That's a brilliant technology. I would want it on my flagship model. I suppose we'll find out soon enough. Forza, Cavallini
From April 2006 EVO Ferrari prides itself on its ability to transfer F1 technology into its road cars. Electronic aids to a car's dynamics are nothing new but the F430's pioneering use of the electronically controlled E-diff brought a new level of aggression and precision to Ferrari's entry level supercar. Now the 599 takes the philosophy and runs with it, using electronic control of the engine and braking systems to generate a similar effect to the F430's multi stage traction and stability enhancing E - diff but purely through electronic rather than electromechanical means. Called F1-trac, it is a switchable system controlled by the now familiar steering wheel mounted manettino, only now the delightfully tactile anodised switch is integrated to a dashboard display so that you can see what mode you're in at a glance. Ferrari says that this solution doesn't replace E- diff, rather it is a solution more suited to the power, torque and dynamics of the front engined 599. The article also mentions that the 599 produces 160kg of downforce at 300kph (186mph in old money) compared with the 575's 0. The flying buttresses generate 25% of the total downforce for the car so they are not just there for show. There's some good pictures too but I don't have a scanner.
Same here. The dealership put my name on the waiting list very early on even though I said I probably wouldn't be interested in the car. I'm glad they did bcz it's becoming more & more likely that I'll want one.
This makes more sense. Many thanks for clarifying. This is going to be a magnificent, landmark machine, in every way. I was reading CAR magazine's article about the most powerful people in the automobile industry and they had Carlos Ghosn of Nissan/Renault as no.1 but for my money Luca De Montezemolo is no. 1 He rebuilt Ferrari from basically zero, on the road and on the track, and they're now making the most advanced, marvelous cars on the road today. Not to minimize Ghosn's accomplishments at Nissan which are even more remarkable in some ways because Nissan had no identity and was bankrupt and he brought them to the head of the pack in about four years. But I won't be buying a Nissan. LOL Forza, Cavallini
Some of the pics in Evo are awesome. Espec the Grigio Silverstone car. If you look carefully at the interior shot you can see the lap times on the small LCD type screen. Also note that the speakers are Bose.
It's about time they ditched that Becker foolishness. I wish they had contracted with Harmon Kardon, however. They're so much better than Bose. But then again, that's BMW's supplier so they couldn't copy that. LOL. Forza, Cavallini
