I'm a real car guy. I really like cars. I watch cars. I notice nice cars. I'm sensitive to design......

Last night I follow a Toyota Solara Convertible on the highway for about 15 minutes before I realize it's really a BMW 645Ci Convertible. Nice work Mr. Bangle, nice work.

At a glance on the road, they look too similiar. They don't look identical, or even a lot alike to some people, but when you only have a couple seconds with a GOOD LOOK during the day, its hard enough let alone at night.

I wasn't staring at it. In fact I paid it no attention as I thought it was the Camry after the first glance!!!!

Don't feel bad Uro, everything's starting to look the same to me too, and I've got 22 year old eyes. I could swear that they pull the taillights for Honda Accords from the Mercedes part bin (CLK in particular), etc.

To further confuse us all, you can add the new Pontiac G6 coupe to the list. From the back, it looks like a more pettite and slightly prettier sister to the Solara.

To be honest, it looks more similar to the Solara, and not as much as the 6 series.....

One day I was walking out of a restaurant and saw the front of a Scion Tc, my friend had one on order so I say to him.. "look there's your car".. it turned out to be a 6 Series that just came out. He thought it was the Scion from the front as well!

I bought my oldest daughter a tC and when I see the front (in my rear view mirror) it looks just like a Subaru of some sort.

That car is best viewed fron the rear quarter I think.

    Bwahahahahaha...

I was at MBZ today and the salesman passes me a brochure for the new "R" class.

I open it and damned if it isn't a Chrysler Pacifica with a 3 pointed star on the hood.

    I can't disagree with you there. I had a '95 LT1. Great looks and a fantastic engine.

The front is ok but the rear is just bad. I dont think I would take the Toyota over it though.

The 6 convert is my GFs favorite car.

So If I buy her the Toyo and switch the badges think she'll notice? Saves me 50k

(Who has the 'Night of the Living Thread' graphic?)

Both cars look awful. At least Toyota has the excuse that they own the nerd segment of the car market. BMW is making a good run at it, though...

Hey buddy, that's a rebodied Pacifica! Just like the rebodied Yukon with a purchased H2 badge on it.
