I am looking for the oval plastic trim piece that goes on the outside of the door under the door handle. No one seems to have anymore and it is no longer made from ferrari. I have exhausted the usual sources ie T Rutands, italian car parts, italian auto parts, etc. Does anyone have an idea of who might have this piece?

    Thanks
    Steve

It's still available, it's just DAM_ hard to find in the parts manuals!

Russell at FoH Parts dept. got on the case for me and sure enough delivered two, at around $32 each.

You definately need them to avoid rattle and chipping the edge of the paint.
Looks like we have another source!

    Hi Bubba!

I remember you and I discussing these "little plastic ovals" in another forum a while back. I'm still not sure what they are. I can't find them on my car. Maybe it was a 1977 thing.

The ad in the FCA News has been running for a while. Each time I see it, I run out to the car to look for 'em. They're never there.

LOL! The Body shop that lost mine insisted they wre never there, as well.

They obviously would deteriorate from UV exposure, and once cracked, easily fall out. If it doesn't bother you it doesn't bother me!

I knew they were gone, from marks in the original paint.....it obviously could have been a detail introduced after our early cars were fabricated.

We are making new muffler screens ....want one?? Custom tip dimensions to your request!

How are you making out with those screens? It's been a while. The screens were never mounted on the '76 Fiberglass. It would have made it tail-heavy.

LOL! Well production on the repros slowed somewhat, when the 'sample' was ripped from my hands to put back on a customer car!

Once the bleeding stopped, I got back to work on it...

Could never exactly match the perf pattern of the screen, most likely metric, but I'll bet 9 of 10 FCA judges will never notice!

They did count off points at the FFQC for mud, whiskey bottles, and cowboy boots.

I knew there could be problems, with the wine and cheese crowd......the Platinum winner changed his STEERING WHEEL, after placing the car....I was like "Hey buddy, those were Locktited in for SAFETY, ya know?"

So if you have a 100 point car and the steering wheel comes off in your hand, that's the car!

    Steve,

I doublechecked that number and that's the correct number. He has a number of other 308 parts listed and he's been running the ad for several months. Looks like he's sold a number of parts and accessories as the list is getting smaller. Be patient, I'm sure he'll return your call.

My '77 doesn't have these but I always wondered if there wasn't supposed to be something there! Maybe another product for Verell.

    Can anyone post a pic??

I'd like to see a picture too. My 1976 parts catalog does not show a grommet for the slot in the door.

Had a few girls tell me that in my early years dating, Bubba.

Yeah, these concours events crack me up too, sometimes. Like the guy who always winds up next to me. He's got a bag full of brand new ANSA decals which he puts on his pipes before judging. Mine are permanently branded into the chrome. I think they look good that way. Here, I got a picture of it. You can also see that my rear valance doesn't have any holes for mounting the screen. I'm pretty sure that came about with the steel GTBs.

I know, we're supposed to be talking about little black plastic ovals in this thread. I'm just shootin' the crap until the guy from MA calls idoc back.

    Bubba,

Here's another interesting picture. This ANSA muffler had burned a small hole through the fiberglass outer shell of my trunk. The early GTBs didn't have heat shields. So the good fellows at Classic Coach mounted that heat reflective/retarding stuff you see in F40 engine bays to the shell. Works pretty well. Check that GTB of yours always catching fire. Maybe you need to do this too.

Can you eMAIL me a tracking # so I can know when to expect them to arrive?

I'm buried with work right now, everyone wants parts to get their car ready for driving season!. Most likely it'll be 3-4 weeks before I can start. I'm going to have to make an initial mold mold using the parts BigTex supplies as patterns. However, for production I need a mold that will turn out 4 to 8 parts/pour. So that initial mold will be used make the patterns for a multi-cavity production mold. It'll probably bee 6 - 8 weeks to get the production mold.

Hello all , thanks for the lead to Verell and Unobtanium... I am contacting him to get a set. My question to the community is whether all the Bezel were black for all colors? My 328 is RC. Should the bezel be black? thanks
