This is deliberatly short notice.... but be at Phillip Island Friday 22nd if you are remotely interested in the following... 360GT sequential...x 2 360GT F1.... x1 (yeah, we left one behind!) 360C speciale x1 Enzo... with MC12 exhaust F40 LM/GTE... (Not the regular LM of Gil Matthews that frequents track days) LOADS of other interesting Ferrari and Exotics........
Is this not an invitation only event? How would guests gain entry without their names being at the gate?
my thoughts exactly....I wish I lived closer to PI Whats the story with the Enzo? The MC12 is loosely based on the Enzo so I wouldn't have thought there would be too much difference in their exhausts? I know that on the MC12 the cams are gear-driven instead of belt-driven as on the Enzo, the paddle-shift system is reprogrammed.....any ohter significant mechanical changes?
BASKETS!!! I'd have flown down given time you really know who ya mates are.............. I'm just a billy-no-mates
aw cmon, i think i covered that with the aforementioned "**** me"... stories... pics..... pweeeeze???
I took some on the wifes camera, will post later, but probably not until tomorrow or Sunday. Q. How many N GT 360's are there and why are most of them in Melbourne?
probably 6ish...360C will know. It was good having 3 of them there, hey? Pics will be on the NEW www.fcavic.com.au website soon.
Not as good as the F40 LM, following that into turn one, spitting out 3 foot flames and making a noise like armageddon, was an experience I'll never forget.
There are 16 N-GT (converted challenge).... The team here had 11 -15 inc built. I'm not sure how many 360 GT (new parts) cars there are... but we have 2010, 2014, and 2028 here now, as well as N-GT #11 ( At PI today)and N-GT #12 (In Richmond, in bits) 2014, 2028 are sister Risi/Acemco cars with F1 shift, and ACO aero kits. #11 and 2010 are sister Veloqx sequential cars woth FIA/Brit GTO aero kits. #12 is still as built by Michelotto in F1 shift, FIA Aero. #13/14/15 are scattered around the world now. How FKN good was that F40 GTE....... YEAH BABY, That's the 5hit..... How disappointing was the Enzo........... Not MC 12 pipes... just no silencers. Still had stock headers and cats fitted. Sounded flat. Allan also said he'd take the Mclaren every time in any situation over the Enzo.......... Food for thought there..... Dare I say it.......... What a perfect example of how a track day should be run. no grouping, just open slather. Only rules were passenger session or driver only. 246/308 out with F40 GTE and 360 GT....... no trouble at all.... Not one all day. Each mega car averaged about 45-50 laps today... each!!
FYI Allan driving 2010 sequential car was doing around 1.36's with passengers. Car just fuelled and oiled, old tyres, no set up work done before event. Cameron McConville driving F40LM GTE was doing around 1.38's... on VERY old tyres with several set up issues to address. #11 on old tyres was doing low 40's. A 40.72 fastest. 430 running in (6000rpm), on Bridgestone road tyres you'd think twice about throwing to the orang utangs to swing on, was doing around 1.57 2014 was in the mid 40's mostly. Didn't get a time on 550 stephen.... Didn't get a time on Enzo. Only did 2 flying laps... same 5hit tyres as the 430. No fun, nothing to gain, put it away.... was the feedback!!..... But he had just hopped out the 360 GT.......
oh man how can i get on a list to find out about something like this a couple days in advance??? ### patiently waiting for pics/vids ###
It didn't sound good at all. I remember TR's F50 with a tubi...now THAT was a sound! Someone on this list should buy an F50 I reckon and bring it to track days. It did go well, didn't it? How many cars were running today?
thanks for the briefings and all, much appreciated... but i'm sorry, am i the only one who feels dirty with PP and FF making civil conversation??
It's got to be said, in fairness to the poor old enzo, that Allan hasn't driven the McLaren on the track to be able to make that a fair comparison. I'd be surprised, quite frankly, that he'd feel that way after giving both of them a good workout on the track.
i'm not up on my modern supercars in oz thing... i'm assuming that wasn't the McEnzo?? if not, which... and how many are in Oz? closest i've been to seeing one is when there wasn't one around... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=134752878
