There's something about the 250 engine that I just love. Especially the red head... I think the P4 engine is also a functional sculpture. What's your favorite?
Something about this makes me excited also. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL, thanks, Zach... i actually think the Boxer and Testarossa engines are really cool; also, anything with velocity stacks is awesome... Velocity stacks are cool... Of course, a broke engine is really beautiful, too...
i cant really decid which engine!..ahh!....well, i guess all these are the best looking ones ive seen.
Ofcourse you are talking about say a race engine that shat itself as it passed the chequer flag to win ... not an abused engine that just has not been maintained (ie. not replacing timing belts) Then I'm on your page ... but I have to admit a broken engine will always make me sad . Pete ps: My favourites would have to be the twin overhead cam engines, like the P4, 275GTB/4, and even the 365GT/4 or Daytona.
Gotta go with the TR on this one. Although the Enzo is a freakin' work of carbon fiber *art*, those runners on the TR just beg to be counted.
No, i'm definitely referring to raced engines or road car engines that were beat on; 'tis better to break from too much wear than to rot out from no wear at all...
Okay I like the reference to wear ... and thus long and hard use. I thought for a minute that you got off from say revving a cold engine until it stuck a conrod out the side ... or that sort of equivalent sick stuff Pete
I had the pleasure of working on this particular car when a friend of mine owned it and I consider it one of the most beautiful if not THE most beautiful engine I've ever seen. I recall it being on the cover of Prancing Horse back in the 80's. It has quite a history - I recall that it was at one time raced in the Mille Miglia by Alphonso Marquis de Portago (sp???) as a sport car, then rebodied to single seat configuration. When I worked on it, it was rebodied back to two-seat, similar to a Testa Rossa. Does anyone know the car to which I'm referring? Where is it now? Bob Zambelli
Is the Ferrari engine pictured a 365BB or a 512BB, please? Also can anybody who owns a 365BB confirm that it uses 4 triple choke carbs? And can somebody else who owns a 512BB confirm that it also uses 4 triple choke carbs? The Australian section is having a discussion regarding this because somebody is trying to sell one with 6 twin choke carbs ... which sounds like a NON-genuine setup. Pete
