After a really bad experience with an unofficial north London ferrari " specialist" and then reading equally bad comments about main dealers I have a worry as to where to take my 550.

It would be great to have a league table / sub forum of complaints / praises about UK ferrari garages both official and unofficial.

Any advice guys - my car is getting due !

I agree with ur comments... just wondered whether u couls elaborate as to location or "relative location" of where the "North London" specialist as I am soon taking my 360 for work done and I am unsure whether to use specilaist or dealer service.....

    Thanks!

Been suggested before but something that most (all) forums shy away from as it's a minefield. Do a search for the usual suspects names and gen up on the various people around.

I've used Verdis for a while now and they're a good bunch of blokes. The downside of this is that they are busy, which can mean delays.

Plenty of chat about others though, so do some searching on here.

Unless you have a main dealer warranty, I wouldn't bother with main dealers (the one regular poster here who I'd be inclined to trust works for a Midlands dealer, so probably a bit far).

All though i have only known them for three weeks, i can heartey recomend PJ evans in birmingham.

After my problems of last week, they phoned me every day to check on the progress or lack of it with Maranello in Egham and made many calls to them to get backsides into gear.

Altough we have had the odd moment i would also recomend Verdi's.

Dale, Ive also heard they are good but very expensive???? They (Brum) quoted me nearly £3500 for the cam belt service. Do you work at the Hagley dealership mate, are their prices any better??

Anyone recommend a good “specialist” in the Yorkshire area?

My 328 is going to need its next stamp soon and I don’t want to trail all the way to the smoke to see Verdi again….

Not aspecialist, but Graypaul in Nottingham are very good, but I use Hollingsworth down near Worcester, they are excellent but perhaps a bit far for you?

Now thats realy strange:( I know some of the guys there (Brum) and have been buying parts for a few years now from them. This year i was quoted than half the price you was by Evans. So £3500 is a very strange price:( Maybe its to cover Dales new wages:D

TBH thinking about it, it was £2500 for the cambelt change and about £950 for the annual service, but the guy did say he would "do a deal" if I had both done. Deal? I nearly passed out! Graypaul did the same for £1950 inc. VAT and collection. My mate swears by Evans @ Brum tho'.....perhaps I am missing something??

If your looking for a good 'relatively-central' london Ferrari specialist, Id definately recommend Joe Macari in Wandsworth.

To be honest Hazy i dont think there is much in it price wise between the independents and the dealers. It used to be that the independents were vastly cheeper than the dealers, but not now i find.

I agree. The way I want to look after my car is a main dealer S/H but any jobs that need doing done by an Indie (Hollingsworth).Dealer servicing costs are fixed, fault finding and fixing isn't so the price can vary vastly I should think
