I have read here somewhere inorder to put 18" wheels on 3.2 I would need to change camber settings can this be done by any competent alignment shop or do I need to go to Ferrari shop. I assume its not something that can be done in garage. By the way yes I am keeping stock wheels, and I already bought them 18" modems wheels I love the updated look. Thanks for info

Found this useful thread awhile ago thanks to Tillman who pointed it out in yet another thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36574 Can't speak to alignment parameters, but any competent shop can do the work once you've got some numbers in mind. I don't see why a variance from stock settings would be needed unless the offsets are very different.

A set of clean 360 wheels came up locally for $900 last summer. I considered them for a bit but was talked out of it. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

I had 18 inch split rim speedlines on my Mondial and eventually took them off and put T 16inch wheels on.

Steering was to heavy with 18's and the ride was so harsh every bump felt like and earthquake.

They do look good when on the car but I just could not live with the ride and the heavy steering.

On the 360 wheels unless you run fronts only they are too wide in the back. Harsh ride will follow too.

    Hey all,

I have always believed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore, the following statement is attributed to, and only to, the manner in which I perceive **** ! :):)

So (IMHO), the Speedline Mistral 17" wheel that was a Ferrari dealer option in Europe, is my choice of wheel upgrade for the Mondial (any Mondial). I believe this wheel design is simpatico with both the older and the newer of wheel approaches.

Procuring them is another issue, for sure. I found the hunt for these wheels quite challenging, as it took me five years to find my set - so, after a wait (to find) that I thought would not end, I consider myself extremely fortunate.

    Cheers,

    Hank

    Hank, those wheels are gorgeous.

Bought some 17" Compomotives that yet to be mounted. They have the same look, but the Speedlines are the ones to have.

I've decided these are for me. I'm on the hunt! Hank, I'm sure you've posted ad nauseum, so forgive me, but... What's the exact size of your wheels on all 4 corners, offset and tire sizes

Hank the car & wheels look excellent, I hope Im as happy with the 360's there on the way via ups hope to see them by next week. I admit I am new to this, I got hooked on the 360 look as the car I was looking to buy had them and I was impressed how much more current the car looked, and IMO the stock wheels are the only thing on the mondial that isnt awsome. The tires I have now are originals even though plenty of tread I odviously need new tires, anyway I happened to see a set of 360's for decent price so I went for it. I guess I'll see how it handles, I had read something about putting these wheels on a mondail online somewhere and the author seemed quite positive also the seller of the car I didnt buy liked them ofcourse he's gotta be a salesman. Anyway cool to see wheel options and thoughts, Im glad I wont need major adjustments. Peace Out

I would totally disagree with you on this statement. I love my stock 3.2 original wheels, the designers knew what they were doing. But to each, their own. As you can see on my car, they look awesome and timeless. This wheel debate has been going on for a while, check out the thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359688

Anyways, I found some 360 Mondials for you to see how they will look on your car.

    All the best!

Can I bolt on 360 Wheels on my Mondial T or not? Do I need longer lug bolts? Do I need spacers? Do I need modification of geometry (alignment)? I like the looks and they are less expensive than the Forge Line wheels which are really gorgeous but at approximately $1100 each a tough sell right now with other more interesting things to do to my Mondial T. Is there a problem fitting these because of the power steering on the T? Will it cause problems with the power steering (early demise?) I understand the ride changes but the adjustable suspension might compensate somewhat. Any experience?
    Thanks for the input!

I was close to buy the Mondial T with 360 wheels in the pictures that SOUCORP provided(lower left picture) before I bought SERA and the owner told me he had the back wheels machined to get them more thin on the hub face and also bought longer bolts.

I often hear the Factory wheels on the Mondial look dated....yea, dated to a 1967 Formula 1 312!!! Let's face it, the Mondial is a design of the 80s. Ferrari used the five spoke, deep dish design on their cars from the Daytona through the F40 but I think the Mondial t was the last Ferrari to wear these (Hank's Speedlines look like they were made to resemble the F40s and that's good company to be in)

Our Mondi will wear her history proudly.

The offsets on the two red T cabs that Mike (soucorp) posted don't look right in those pictures. Like maybe the rims/tires stick out too far...

Looks nice on the silver 3.2; probably because the car has big brakes to fill the openings and it sits lower.

+1 if you go with the 360 wheels, i think you need to go to the big brake kit. It looks best.

Wade & Ted make good points here:

Large wheels look good - - when the spaces are filled with large brake rotors and calipers, as opposed to increased open space, pointing to the smaller, stock brake setups. Granted, one may like that latter look, and that's perfectly fine :) But for another, oh the regrets :(

My feelings: do the research. Visualize the final product in your head. See your dream wheels as if they were actually mounted on your car. Be they wide or narrow, large diameter or small, see them on your car, "IN YOUR MIND'S EYE" and, you will find an opinion, forming. It's quite good fun, actually :):)

Happy Easter & Happy Passover - and Happy Driving !! :):)

    Cheers all,

    Hank

Hi Ted, Just so you know - I was turned on to the 17" Speedline Mistral wheels on a Mondial, when I first saw them on Russ's (snj5) black 3.2 coupe, which is now in the care of dizengoff. Russ told me that his front rims were 7 1/2" and the rears were 8 1/2".

The Speedlines that I eventually found, were 8" up front, and 9" in the rear. I did the math, and found that a tire size of 225/45/17 would be perfect for the 8" rim width up front (with correct height) ...while 245/45/17 would give me the right (slightly taller) tire height and would look just right on the 9" rim. The 1/2" difference in rim width overall didn't cause any problem. As a matter of fact, that additional 1/2" did add a bit (but not overkill) of aggressiveness to the stance of the vehicle. Also, I don't think the offsets in the Mistral 17"s, both front and back, are going to be a negative factor.

If you like, I'll take some additional photo angles of Rachel's wheels, and will post them in this thread.

To all, Happy Easter & Happy Passover,

    Hank

Another Rookie question How do I know what size lug bolt to use with 360 wheels? I have looked at this thread about lug bolts http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361815. And it states bolts are 2.25" or 3.0" I measure my lug bolts at 2.5" someone on thread indicated 8 turns as being correct length. Thanks for the help

Check out this thread, may help you:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69170

Daniel from Ricambi stated these figures for 360 bolts:
    27mm head,
    52mm under head,
    20mm thread length.

So Hank, Snj5/Dizen's are not the same wheels as yours?
