I finally decided to take the Ferrari plunge. I've been looking since November and found what seems to be the perfect car for me this weekend. It's an '86 Euro 328, Red/Creme, with 54K miles on it. It is in very good shape with only the A/C having any problems, but I knew that up front.

I put a deposit down, and will pick the car up in two weeks. This is going to be the longest two weeks of my life. I'm alternating between jubliation, impatience (I want it now), and buyer's remorse (it was a good deal, but still a lot of money to me).

I just want to thank Rob for setting up this site. It has proven invaluable in getting the knowledge about Ferraris to know what to look for in a good car and what to expect after I get it home. I found the car on FerrariAds.com, so a second thanks for providing a section for members to trade cars/parts. Since the seller is a long-time member of FerrariChat, I was able to search his prior posts and see if the car may have had any problems over the past few years.

Thanks also to all the members who share their technical knowledge here every day. There is so much information on here and in the archives that someone could probably build a complete car from scratch. I'm sure my post count will climb significantly over the next few months as I have questions even though I do search the archives (no dead kittens because of me).

I'll post some pics of the car and the drive home once I get it.

    Congratulations Bandit,
328 is a great car. Based on where you live, you don't need a strong A/C anyway, so you can enjoy the car through a year!

It's good to hear that you are buying 328 from fellow f-chatters.

It is the one listed as consigned on Martin's website. Martin also has another '86 328 Red/Black for sale that I would have considered if things weren't already in the works with this one.

First off, since you're in MS, I think you WILL need to get that A/C fixed!

Second - a big congrats !! Being the former owner of an '86 euro 328 myself, you've gotten a great car. A little lighter, a little faster, and a GREAT and LOUD engine note (especially with a Tubi).

Here is what you have to look foward to. My old car (red/ black) with various different mufflers...:
